This place is heaven on earth. You HAVE to go there when you are in Bangkok! From the very first moment when you are welcomed in this beautiful house until the checkout you are feeling at home. The staff does everything they can to make you feel comfortable. We only stayed for one night which was really a pity. The...

Baan Dinso is rated the best hostel in the WORLD for a reason--it is. It's more like a bed & breakfast than any hostel I've stayed in. The moment you step into the serene courtyard you realize you've found a gem. The staff is so friendly and helpful! They go out of their way to think of things that might...

My sister and I stayed here for three nights and thought it was amazing. Everyone was really friendly, we were able to use the internet for free and leave our bags there after we had checked out. The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms, bathrooms and spaces were all very clean and beautifully decorated. The location is excellent....

Baan Dinso is an extraordinary place - quiet, clean, with very homely feeling. We felt there like visiting friends or family. I liked the shoes off custom - very pleasant wooden floors. Very comfy beds, great and not overpriced food ( the best I had in Thailand I think), charming owner and staff. Little problematic was acoustic - this is...

I came here with VERY high expectations, and was slightly disappointed. After all, it received the Best Hostel in the World designation from Hostelworld (of course, I don't know if the hotel stuffed the ballot box or not). Pros: Beautiful lobby, rooms, and outdoor dining Nice amenities: fridge, TV, fresh fruit, bottled water, computer room (no add'l cost). Pleasant staff....

This place is amazing. It's hidden in a little side street. This makes it a little difficult to find but on the other hand very quiet for being in the middle of Bangkok. It's surrounded by traditional Thai houses. It's impeccably clean. The rooms are wonderful and and have a lot of charm. We stayed in a double room with...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first weekend in Bangkok. The price was a bit more than I usually spend on a hostel, but Baan Dinso was totally worth it. I loved it! The staff was so kind and helpful. I loved all of the things they included, like fresh water, free internet, unlimited fresh towels, cable TV...

I've stayed in some of the flashest hotels in Bangkok but decided with 3 accompanying adult children we should be a little more adventurous! Baan Dinso gets all the positive reviews on this site and quite deservedly. We stayed 3 nights booking 3 separate rooms ranging from ensuite to twin to single. All rooms provided excellent value for money. Comfortable...

If you stay anywhere in Bangkok then this is the place to stay! I stayed here three times during my two months in Thailand - On my first return after an overnight train & arriving around 8am I was greeted with a warm welcome, a big smile and what caused my jaw to fall on the floor was that after...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“Pick a room on the 2nd floor as it is less noisy than the bottom rooms. Remember the floors are wooden and guests do not always walk quietly.”

“Don't go for the cheapest single room (201) try to get a room with en-suite....”
Munchkin8it, 2 Jun 2014 | Read review
“You can find plenty of choices of food on the street one minute away from the hostel. If you can, only pay the room price without the option of breakfast, as the breakfast served by the hostel is far too simple but expensive considering the price of 200 Thai Baht. With the 200 Thai Baht, one can easily get a big and delicious meal in the local restaurants nearby.”
