I spent almost a week in this hotel on a business trip to Tainan. I found the room large and well furnished. The bathroom was very well laid out, with a nice rain shower. The bed was excellent and big. The room was designed intelligently, with a nice night light so you can find the bathroom in the dark. Breakfast...

I have excellent experience with the hotel Zenda Suites. It is just opposite to National Cheng Kung University. Rooms in the hotel are excellent, neat and clean. Foods available inside the hotel are also very good. For breakfast, people can get Asian as well as Continental food and that amount is also a lot and different varieties. Receptionists are also...

We were staying at this hotel to attend my brother's graduation. The location is strategic and nice. You can find some good places to eat in the neighborhood; for example you can find some street food, or there are also some restaurants beside the hotel. 5 min walks you'll find Mc Cafe and 7 min walks you'll find Starbucks. There...

We stayed here to attend my brother-in-law graduation. It's very suitable and convenient if you have the same purpose of visit. Staffs were very friendly and professional, they helped us with truly a great effort, their room is pretty spacious and comfortable, their compliments were one of the best, loved the pineapple cakes so much! Their only downside is their...

This hotel is owned by the local university. It is a and comfortable hotel nice with large rooms. WI-FI is available throughout the building. The staff is efficient, couteous and helpful. We had a great breakfast buffet (part of our tour) at the 2nd floor dining area. There is a convenient store around the corner for purchasing snacks and other...

The hotel's room was spacious, clean and comfortable. big bed very comfortable, staff was very friendly and cooperative, I have to say this hotel provides better quality of services than any Holiday Inn Express in Beijing. Although the breakfast has not many options but still it was enough. The presser and other things of use were available in the room...

The third floor breakfast buffet had Japanese, Chinese, and Western food choices. They also offer English or Chinese newspaper and cable tv choices. Wifi was strong, desk in room was large, had a couch and table, two large queen size beds and shower with huge bathtub next to shower which was separate but in same compartment with glass door. All...

The hotel was very nice with large rooms (room 610) and clean modern fixtures. The breakfast was plentiful although not really to Western tastes. I would have given this hotel a much higher ranking except for the fact the internet was almost never working. This is a University hotel and most of the guests were staying due to business. In...

This is an excellent hotel located in the middle of the National University Campus. Very clean, modern rooms, large enough for a daybed as well as the large and comfortable bed. This was the best bed in all the Taiwan Hotels we stayed. Bathrooms had both shower and bathtub. Good amenities. Gym on our floor! Breakfast was not in keeping...

Staying in East District/ Yongkang District

Neighbourhood Profile
East District/ Yongkang District
This district is suitable for settling down. The Tainan Train Station is situated in this district and the transport hub. Behind the train station stands the tallest building in Tainan. There are department stores and hotels surrounding the station. Furthermore, the National Cheng Kung University and its green area cover a vast area of land. The district, therefore, sends out an academic, yet relaxed atmosphere. The alleyways on Dasyue Road near the university are filled with restaurants and shops offering exotic cuisine. It is a quiet getaway in the hustle and bustle of the city. The Banyan Garden and the green area are a top choice for the public to have a walk after picnic. Many foreigners visit here every year. The Old Tainan Magistrate Residence is the historic monument that is the most well-preserved and at the same time the most luxurious during the Japanese rule. The Great East Gate on Dongmen Road is perfectly in sync with the modern busy traffic. The seed museum hidden in the alleyway in the East District is a utopia that is highly recommended. As for Yongkang District, it is the biggest satellite town in Tainan. Though it is modern and busy, it has stories to tell. For those who want to have a glimpse of the history of early Tainan’s development, visit here.
