We had a nice 4night/3 day stay at the retreat, we observed silence whilst being there and it was a very interesting experience, everybody is very nice and accommodating, the food is great and so much of it. We were the only guests which was a great plus as all the lessons, meditation and yoga, were adapted to our skill level and continued progress. It was winter in Nepal so it got quite cold at night and the shower was not hot but rather lukewarm. All in all it was a great experience and we learned a lot!

Some months ago I decided to experience yoga retreat, found a picture of Sadsana and fall in love immediately. I went there in the begging of March and spent 5 days. Experiment was rather hard at first day as I used to my own plans and my own schedule, but after I began to get pleasure. Sadsana has many things to love it for. 1. Amazing view from the terrace where we had tea and were speaking much. 2. Their teacher of yoga and meditation makes you calmer, teaches to sit in one position long enough. Every day we had different asana and it was the best decision for me – yoga wasn’t boring at all. More over we practice right breathing with exercises at the same time. Forget about yoga classes in your own country – in Sadsana they teach yoga isn’t only exercises for your body – it is more about style of living. The best experience ever. 3. Durga – the owner, will hug you with all her warmness and love, will help with any problems you have outside (as I had with my flight). She will teach you to be grateful for everything you have in your life and love yourself and the world. 4. The schedule seems too strict from the first sight, but as far as you have done it - you will be so proud of yourself and feel effect in every muscle and bone. This place is perfectly for those who are searching yourself, want some calmness and good yoga, get stronger and peaceful. Liliia, with love

I had an enjoyable time here. The yoga teacher Kamal and Sunder were great because they always made sure that no one stresses themself and they looked after the physical shape of everyone. The retreat offers different courses, I did yoga and juice fasting which was just perfect for my digestice system after eating a lot of unhealthy food. I felt absolutely refreshed after this great experience. On my last day Durga even gave me a little cooking course (her food is soooooooooo tasty) knowing I love MoMos (she served them for the other guests on my first day of fasting and I was so sad...) Thanks to all of them! Aisha for the hug and Maya for always smiling... So if you are looking for an amazing place to practise yoga you should go to Sadhana Yoga Retreat because they make you not just feel at home you even have a gorgeous view over Phewa Lake!

I can’t even begin to say how grateful and happy I am to have known the saddhana yoga retreat center. It was the most beautiful time of my life. It’s difficult for me to put into words the profoundly positive impact that the incredible Sadhana team and it’s gorgeous and relaxing location have made on me.
Initially, I had planned to stay 4 days but quickly decided to do 7 days. The moment, you enter Sadhana premises, you are considered a part of the Sadhana family and treated accordingly. You will be made most welcome, kauesal will make sure that you progress physically and durga will make you feel progress spiritually. You will eat the best food in Nepal.
Thank you the sadhana family for your teaching, your love, your kindness, your sharing and your time. The different practices opened our heart and we'll definitely come back again.
Give yourself the opportunity to experence the same.
Highly recommended

My short stay at Sadhana was throughly wonderful!
My first visit was for a week in 2013.
Everything is well organised, spotlessly clean & there is a good ratio of activity & down time
Kamal our yoga instructor modified the poses to suit my physical abilities which allowed me to enjoy the program.
Durga ( the owner & wise teacher) is so full of wisdom & has insight to life which is so heartwarming. I learnt a lot from her. Thank you Durga.
The vegetarian food is fresh & absolutely delicious.

Nepal is a kingdom of hidden oasis’ and this hillside gem is one of them with some of the finest sweeping views of Pokhara. I was looking for some afternoon meditation during my time in Pokhara and chanced upon Sadhana. I decided to give the afternoon retreat program a go which includes afternoon tea, kirtan (mantra chanting), yoga, dinner, followed by candle gazing meditation.

As a solo traveller looking to take it easy, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon and end the day. If you’re on the hunt for peace and relaxation, Sadhana will not disappoint.

Nestled high amongst the mountains, the sounds and surroundings of nature start melting away any stress and drops you into peace as soon as you enter the space.

Durga, the owner at Sadhana is an outstanding host, welcoming you with the brightest smile and eyes full of kindness. She has the voice of an angel which will touch your heart space during kirtan (even if you’ve never done mantra chanting before). She’s a masterchef in the kitchen. Food there is lovingly prepared with the soul. You can taste the difference. Meals are delicious, clean eating and nourishing.

The yoga was refreshingly authentic (this is coming from someone who’s been practising for over 10 years).

Candle gazing meditation was new for me and truly something special. What a blissful nightcap to end the day.

I had such a beautiful time here I ended up coming back 3 days in a row before my trek started and definitely plan to come back post-trek to decompress and for Durga to work her magic and put me back together again.

Time at Sadhana is time well spent. You won’t regret it.

Dear Karen, Thank you for sharing your experience at Sadhana, the hillside mountain sanctuary in Nepal. It sounds like you had a wonderful time and found exactly what you were looking for – an afternoon of peace and relaxation. It's great to hear that the afternoon retreat program, which includes tea, kirtan, yoga, dinner, and candle gazing meditation, exceeded your expectations. The sweeping views of Pokhara and the natural surroundings of the sanctuary truly create a peaceful atmosphere. It's wonderful to hear that Durga, the owner of Sadhana, was an outstanding host, and her warm welcome and angelic voice during kirtan created an unforgettable experience for you. The delicious, clean, and nourishing food prepared by Durga, combined with the authentic yoga and candle gazing meditation, sounds like a perfect combination for relaxation and rejuvenation. It's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your experience so much that you returned three days in a row before your trek and plan to come back post-trek. Your review shows that time at Sadhana is well spent and that it's a perfect place for anyone looking to decompress and find inner peace. Thank you for sharing your review and recommendation of Sadhana. I'm sure it will be helpful for others looking for a peaceful and authentic experience in Nepal. Best regards,

I did the 4 days and 5 nights silent retreat. It was a really nice experience. So good to just focus on yourself en go deeper within. If you feel like doing it, do it here. The program is diverse and you have some time off as well to even reflect more if you want or just take an extra nap.

The food is really good and chanting is so special, Durga has a beautiful voice! The yoga teacher is really good, takes the time to focus on breathwork a lot. Thats something now a days a lot of teachers dont even focus on anymore and see yoga more as a sport.

There are many yoga retreat places in Pokhara (each of them with its own Karma, as I learned), so before choosing the one for you is better if you think about what are you looking for, what do you expect to find.

Sadhana was the first retreat to be opened and still preserves its genuinity, its authenticity. And if you are looking for a place to deeply immerge yourself into learning, listening to the inner you (or start to), share your energy and the most unconditional love... That's the place for you.

Yoga practices in many different aspects: from morning meditation to nasal cleaning, from flows and asana to pranayama and relaxation techniques, from yoga nidra to steam ore mud baths, from chanting sessions to candle gazing, you would not want to miss any of them. And you will probably carry many of them (and hopefully continuing practicing) for the rest of your life.

Apart from all of that - which is huge already (probably I was also quite lucky as I was the only student for an entire week and therefore was able to receive all the focus, I literally never went out of the retreat for seven days) - peaceful environment and amazing food will be served with love everyday. Tea breaks, breakfast, dal bhat, everything is homemade, vegetarian and simply delicious.

But, most of all, you would build unique relationships. Apart from being wonderful teachers, I'm honoured and happy to consider Durga and Kaushal as true pure friends, as their souls and hearts are. Whatever they do, they do it with passion, love and smiles. All their energies is there, anytime. And the same happens for those amazing women living and working with them.

Is it everlasting love possible to happen even if after just few days? Yes, it definitely is.
Go to Sadhana and you'll live it yourself.

Wow- words cannot describe this place! I had the most magical time at Sadhana Retreat. The meditations were beautiful. The conversations with Durga were so special and the food that was prepared for us every day was out of this world. That, on top of the incredible setting of the retreat centre resulted in a truly incredible experience! I would recommend anyone to go, you won’t be disappointed (until you have to leave!) absolutely loved my time here!

I had one of the best experiences of my life at the Sadhana Yoga Retreat Center. It's hard to know where to start—it's truly incredible how they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. They make you feel valued and remind you of your worth, encouraging you to invest in your own wellness. This place is all about celebrating the most important person in the world: yourself.

Throughout the calendar, they focus on different aspects of your being—physical, mental, and spiritual—which complement each other beautifully.

I was fortunate to join them for dinner on New Year's Eve. It's amazing how they approach every day as something special. They love sharing their culture and are genuinely interested in learning from you; they became good friends.

Initially, I didn't think I could afford this experience, but their volunteer program allowed me to participate in activities and contribute easily. It's incredibly inclusive.

As I write this on my way elsewhere, I find myself already wanting to return—I might even ask the bus to stop! This experience truly is a gift to yourself. Words can't fully express everything I'd like to say. Even though I can't stay at the Sadhana Yoga Retreat Center forever, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Don't hesitate to give it a try—trust this enthusiastic Colombian! It'll be an amazing experience. 🌟
