I stayed here with a friend for three nights in February during our first-ever trip to Nepal. We had a deluxe room on the fifth floor and we both found the room to be spacious and comfortable (including the mattresses). The hot water was constant and deliciously hot. This was actually fine for me, but we were on the fifth...

hotel ganesh is a great value compared to other kathmandu hotels. the location is pretty conveninent and the rooms are on par with higher priced hotels that cost $US 35/nt. free internet PCs that are reliable and good food make it a great stay. like all kathmandu hotels, watch out for the mosquitos (we burned invense coils)

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in February. It is a nice enough hotel - very clean and helpful staff. There is a lovely garden and shared balconies on every floor. The food is good and relatively inexpensive. It is about a ten minute walk from the action of Thamel. There are a couple of not so great...

We selected Ganesh Himal because of it's Lonely Planet recommendation and we were not disappointed. It is a clean, quiet hotel on the edge of the busy Thamel tourist area. This was the only booking we had when we left home to spend 2 months in Nepal, mostly trekking in the Annapurna Region. This meant we had a lot of...

Fully booked and busy when I was there. Had a friendly, buzzy vibe and was packed with travelers, though no one seemed to interact. Rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space, good light and 24hr hot water. Food was good value, however, if you have anything but breakfast, expect to wait about an hour for the food to...

Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice food and a tranquil garden which is a haven away from Kathmandu. Our first room was slightly smaller and plain but still adequate, second room which was the first room on your right was huge with brickwork walls and a large bathroom. Food was really tasty and cheap in comparison to the thamel area. Great...

Excellent hotel, although rather dark and cold (in Winter). Good rooms, hot water and wifi. Food not bad in restaurant. However, be careful using the travel agent located downstairs in the hotel.

We were backpacking with our 2 children aged 12 and 11 this time last year. We were made to feel so welcome and at home here.We trusted the staff completely and returned each time we passed through Kathmandu which was three times in two weeks. Each time we felt like we were returning home and each time they managed to...

Gansh Himal is away from the centre of Thamel, which is mostly a good thing. However, if you are out late, walking back through dark streets could be a concern for some singles. I happened to be here when the hotel was completely full, including a school group, and the staff dealt with everything with total calm and aplomb. Their...

We have stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal on two occasions and both times have been a great experience. The beds are comfortable, food delicious (especially the curries) and bathrooms are spotless with lots of hot water. The rooftop garden is a haven in the middle of chaotic Kathmandu. The best part about this hotel is the wonderful family that manages...
