Ganesh Himal is a very nice place to stay, thanks to its staff. Vishnu (waiter) is the best! The responsible for Travel Desk too. He was extremelly honest all the time, prices were good! The only complain about this hotel is about location, a little bit far from central Thamel. Also sometimes at reception we asked for something and after...

After making a decision based on lonely planet and other positive review on the Internet, me and my girlfriend decided to stay here. Once we arived at the airport from Pokhara with airport pickup reques confirmation, the hotel rep didn't show up which make us wait in the rain for about 20 mins. Then, we decided to pay for prepaid...

My spouse and I booked 2 nights at Hotel Ganesh Himal for our arrival in Kathmandu and we ended up staying 3. The hotel's driver was waiting for us at the airport on arrival at the Kathmandu Airport. We were welcomed to the hotel and given a welcome cup of tea to drink while (I suspect) they finished preparing our...

Its everything that the other reviews promise - its well priced, really quiet at night, lots of foreign travellers to meet up with, great courtyard, HOT water and free reliable wi fi. I found my experience with the staff mixed actually. The security man at the gate is a delight and one of the front desk men are really nice,...

Ganesh Himal is a small family run hotel which is maintained & managed extremely well. The place is not luxurious or fancy but it is clean (cleaner than some of the so called 'STAR' hotels in Kathmandu) and neat with extremely friendly & helpful staff starting with the security guard at the gate all the way into the kitchen &...

We loved that this hotel was outside the Thamel area but close enough to get anywhere on foot. Being in a neighborhood, there was a lot less traffic noise and you got to see 'life' around you versus touristy stuff. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were especially thrilled with the man who runs the travel desk...

This is a wonderful hotel and I highly recommend it. I stayed here for several weeks and would return again if I have a chance. It is run by welcoming, friendly, helpful staff who care about hospitality. They will try to help you with any concerns or questions you have. They’ll greet you with a smile and ask how your...

Me and my partner have stayed in many different thamel/kathmandu hotels. Ganesh Himal was mostly pretty average by comparison to others we've stayed in, with some very good aspects, and some negative ones. Good was the free airport pickup, even late at night. Hot showers that we still hot, even during power cuts or late in the evening. The beautiful...

“We accidentally went into one of the suites on our second stay; I'm not sure about the price increase for that room but it looked amazing! Our room still had air conditioning, but the windows opened out onto a fairly grim alleyway with lots of pigeons. I guess watch for the right hand side rooms if this bothers you!”
