I stayed at HimalGanesh on three occasions during my visit to Nepal in November. It’s a lovely guesthouse with Tibetan style decor. Great staff and service. Nice quiet location. I’d definitely recommend it
A very nice hotel, run by very nice people. The hotel, room, garden and restaurant all share a very nice atmosphere. The beds are soft and we finally could catch up on a lot of sleep. The employees were very helpful with planning our city trips and providing us with service. Would visit again.
We stayed here three times during my time in Nepal, for one, 7, and 4, respectively, and it was a very nice place each time. It’s in a quiet neighborhood only a 5 minute walk from Thamel. The managers are helpful and friendly, the porches are relaxing and beds comfortable!
Quaint hotel with friendly staff having a wonderful old-world charm with its beautiful paintings and woodwork décor. The room was spacious and clean. Large comfortable bed. It is a short walk from the busy, touristy Thamel Street, yet away from the noise. The restaurant served delicious food too. CON: Hotel does not have a elevator.
We started our Nepal trip with this lovely KTM central space and would happily come back. The personal service from the restaurant even bringing us morning coffee or a meal to our rooftop room was exceptional as was the casual hanging out in the garden below. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is off from the road enough to be quiet and restful. It was cleaned when we requested and fresh towels as needed. The balcony and rooftop views were great and we even glimpsed the sacred Ganesh Himal mountain on one particularly clear morning. The garden is very lovely and power cables for computers are abundant without needing any adapters. Be prepared to go up and down stairs as is common in all of Nepal. Wifi was a bit patchy as I was trying to finish some work before trekking but management was doing the best they could with some occasional storms knocking out power. Food was good and well accommodated gluten-free needs. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, eggs and great fried potatoes with veggies for options. It was easy to catch taxis and even rickshaws to the local nearby sites. Great as a budget hotel but met all our needs beyond. We would gladly come back and will upon our return to Kathmandu!…
This hotel is very special because the garden where u can sit have your meal anf rest The rooms are nice and big with nature wood and bathroom with nature stone .good shower ! The staf is very freindly and helpfull The manager is a warm hearted man aldo helpfull to do things for you. I liked the atmosphere there and its nice also that its close to the tamel but not in the middle. Its worthwhile to stay in this Hotel!!!
I just LOVED it. Hotel Ganesh Himal is heaven within the hell of Thamel. It is absolutely beautiful. The Garden, an oasis of serenity, perfect for soothing the nerves and relaxing body and mind. The lobby is a work of art with handpainted murals and carved wooden doors and... Loving touches everywhere! There is also a wonderful communal space on the generous balconies. The owner and staff are just wonderful. So helpful, so forthcoming. The Ganesh Himal was my home away from home in Kathmandu. Whenever I returned to Kathmandu I stayed there. In room 303. It might be a strange thing to say, but the Hotel Ganesh Himal was one of the highlights of my trip to Nepal. You have to see it, to understand. The rooms are ok, by the way but trust me, it's not about the rooms, it's about everything. …
Best place to stay in Katmandou. Beautyful garden to have a dink with snacks after a long trek. Nice people. Large bedrooms. Large and comfortable bed. Reasonnable prices. Ideal to visit Tamel without the nightlife noise. The best place to me in Katmandou. You must stay there
I was really surprised this was on our list of approved hotels for the organisation i work for as we always have budget places. It sure was amazing and really luxurious for the price. A little bit further walk out to get right into town but was really nice and quiet and the gardens were beautiful.
I stayed at Ganesh Himal during the autumn of 2019 for some weeks and I found it to be what I wanted - a peaceful place, whit a very service minded staff. The garden restaurant was the best, with the very nice Siri Pandey in charge for the restaurant staff! I had a very pleasant stay! Håkan Grissler Sweden
