There is not much more I can add to the other glowing reviews of this gem of a hotel in Thamel--but I will try. I stayed for 1 night in between treks in Oct. and returned again 2 weeks later for 2 more nights. I can honestly say that I have never stayed anywhere in my life where after staying... More

My wife and I arrived in Kathmandu from Bhaktapur violently ill due to likely food poisoning. We had wanted to travel home earlier that day, but with no flights available, our only choice was to spend out last night in Kathmandu as planned. We arrived at the hotel very sick and told the staff we were just going to spend... More

My trekking experience in the east of Nepal was cut short due to illness and a helicopter returned me to Kathmandu prematurely. I knew of Michelle and Pujan and the Courtyard from a brief stay some time ago but when I turned up unnannounced I was made to feel like a long lost friend. I had two options, one was... More

After two hectic weeks in Rajasthan, our family of three arrived at the Courtyard Hotel in Kathmandu and we knew right away, that we had embarked on a new phase of our trip. As many other reviewers point out, Michelle and Pujan receive guests as though they were family, quickly introducing us to other guests and including us in group... More

I have recently stayed at the Courtyard Hotel in Kathmandu. It is a wonderful place to stay for so many reasons. In the first instance, the hosts Michelle and Pujan make you welcome like a family friend. To be met at the Airport as promised and invited to share breakfast upon arrival was the start of a pleasant and relaxing... More

BRILLIANT!!!! I can't praise this place enough. I have travelled all over the world but I have never come across a hotel that has so much presence. The rooms are great & the people are even better. Very very friendly staff who can't do enough for you. I was sad to leave. A good location and a great escape from... More

What can I say about the Hotel Courtyard in Kathmandu? Before I had departed for Kathmandu - I read the reviews for the Courtyard and decided that this is where I wanted to stay. We were in a taxi, driving the hectic streets of the Thamel district - and we came upon the majestic Courtyard hotel - a true oasis... More

Hotel courtyard is a welcome relief from the busy streets of the thamel district of Kathmadu, and it is very central. Our room was big, airy, reasonably comfortable and clean. However, our room, which didn't overlook the courtyard, was quite dark. We felt it was expensive for what it was ($50 a night including all taxes), although the stay was... More

My son and I have spent 4 nights (2 x 2 nights at the start and end of a short trek) at the Courtyard. Michelle and Prujan were very welcoming and helpful after a long flight. The hotel is in the madness that is Thamel, but still manages to be a very still, and quiet place to be - great... More
