Detailed Reviews
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Food, room service and hospitality moreover were excellent. They have their own money exchange which makes it easy for us to convert money on need basis. I would give this place a rating of 5 on a scale of 5.

This is a convenient location as family
live close by. Hotel is beautiful but rooms are showing a bit of age, as is the elevator but is fine. It is a COVID year so they r still alive so that says something. (Spa and pool etc closed) Had requested smoke free room but first room was definitely smoke smelling, easily changed and fine. No issues really as price was great w breakfast included. Did find bathroom showing signs of wear but hot shower was great. Our bathroom seemed to have a family of small cockroaches which appeared in the evening...seems were spray resistant. lol. Wife said she was "comfortable" in this hotel so I must say that's all that matters to me. So yes I recommend to you this place.

Staffs are kind and helpful.
Room was quite decent.
There were no slippers in the restroom the shower was quite old and it splashed water everywhere. You cant go in the toilet without slippers once you ise the shower head. I asked for a pair of slippers, they asked money for it. It was my first ever experience.
You need a car to Go anywhere because the road beside the hotel is quite dusty and i suggest not to venture walking.

I’m a solo traveller from Western Australia and first time out of Australia. The Grand Hotel was fantastic, I felt very welcomed to Nepal and the room was great! From my room you could see the surrounding mountains to Kathmandu valley as well as from the top floor restaurant. Breakfast was very good each morning and the restaurant staff were excellent. I highly recommend the Grand Hotel Kathmandu, brilliant.

Since our Air India flight got cancelled, the airline hosted us in this hotel for a day.
The hotel is located in the western end of the city so it is quite far from the city centre and very far from the airport (located @ easter end). It may have been great in the past, however, I feel the hotel is in dire need of modernisation and renovation (the wi-fi in my room was not working and couldn't be repaired, they gave me a password to the adjacent room's wi-fi). You can go for it if you are looking for nostalgia or old-world charm.
We had our meals in the Indian restaurant on the top floor. The food was basic at best. Lack any variety.
Having said the above, the hotel staff is friendly and cooperative.

If you’re looking for a place to stay where people genuinely care about you , this is a perfect hotel. I absolutely love the staff. Right from check in, you will feel like everyone cares about you and, they want to provide you with a memorable experience. The rooms are clean and put together nicely. Breakfast is absolutely incredible. Live music at night is an added bonus.
If you’re traveling with children, you can never go wrong staying here. Thankfully, this hotel is away from all the pollution and hustle and bustle of the dirty centralized locations in Kathmandu.
The idea of a vacation is to be able to relax and this hotel provides exactly that. Extremely pleased with my stay. You can never go wrong staying here. I got more than the value for my money.

This hotel did not live up to my standards. The room as cold and they could not turn on the heat, we saw some bugs which made me sleep with the lights on. The furniture and flooring have not been updated in many years. The staff were rude, and when we went to check out, the front desk agent questioned my decision until I finally said good bye. Breakfast in the morning was marginal at best and the coffee not drinkable. Wish I had something nice to say about this hotel, but I don't. They need to update and fumigate!

Dear Mr. Modi,
Our Executive Suite Room is 424.26 sq. ft. in size. We have wooden parqueting fitted for our executive suites so there is no wall-to-wall carpet however we do have a throw rug in the room. Also we have one 2-seater sofa and one 1-seater sofa as well as a dining area which has 4 chairs plus a small dining table.
Hope that suffices your enquiry. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.
