Our stay in the hotel Bright Star was very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot - not so easy to find in Nepal for low budget travelers!.The location is also great! I've just regretted to realized too late (when I was already in India) that 2 pieces of clothes that I liked so much didn't come... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Bright Star for 4-5 nights before beginning a 30-day trek in the Everest region. The hotel was very clean and had everything you'd expect from a budget hotel in Kathmandu. But what made the Hotel Bright Star better than all of the others was the family who owns and operates the place.... More

I loved my stay here. The rates are good, the rooms are clean and I just can't say enough how lovely & kind the family running it are. The bed was comfortable, there was a ceiling fan if needed and a water-refil station to help reduce buying so much plastic bottled water. This spot is right in the heart of... More

Stayed one night in Kathmandu. The hotel is just at the northern Thamel, quiet nice spot. The boss served me very kindly and gently. Even I re-visit Kathmandu after 10 days and there was no room available for me. The boss also helped me to find a hotel to stay - and even invited me having breakfast with them! So... More

We stayed at Bright Star before and after our EBC trek. The rate is very reasonable for Thamel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good wifi connection. They also have hot showers. The owner could not do enough to help us when we needed it. For example we were unable to ring to book a room on the way... More

After a warm and friendly welcome by Gopal and his lovely wife they offered free Chay and are very helpful. The rooms are nice, easy and have everything you need. You are located at the heart of Thamel, but it's superquit! One of the best stays I had in Kathmandu, thanks for everything!

The family who run the hotel are absolutely amazing...they treat every customer like family...they are always smiling and happy to help with anything you need..everytime you come in or go out you are greeted with a big smile. I stayed here for two nights before trekking Annapurna and they stored some of my stuff for free and I showed up... More

in the heart of crazy thamel and still calm. run by a very helpful and warm family which makes you feel not as a customer but a guest (rare in any touristic area in any country). wi-fi, hot, water, insect screens on windows, tv, daily common area cleaning, comfy soft bed (again rare in Nepal). price ok even for backpackers.

I have just return home, after 18 days stay at Hotel Bright Star from 22 july to august 8, 2016. I have nothing, but good things to say, about this place. The family Pandey, is warm, careing and friendly people. When I started to get sick, they right away help me to get better. In my long stay, I saw... More
