Beautiful resort in a quiet and scenic setting 30 minutes outside Kathmandu. Great hospitality, good food. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, nicely decorated. Secluded at the end of a dirt road, which can be a challenge to small taxis in the rainy season, but adds to the quiet character of the location. Internet is a bit slow and not...

Chandra Ban is a true retreat while visiting hectic Kathmandu. A little bit outside city center the hotel and the friendly staff and owners offer good rooms, best food and a very nice garden. We loved to stay at this oasis!

What a place. A retreat, a massive garden, a wonderful family, a collection of Tibetan art and furniture and wonderful food, staff and service. This would be the ideal base for someone to explore Nepal. The Anglo-Italian couple that run the place know Nepal like the back of their hand and can arrange anything. Kathmandu has a collection of high...

Super romantic and beautiful little retreat. Amazing detail in every corner. Everything has been thought of and so much care into every little piece of the place. We went for my boyfriends birthday and the owners even brought out a surprise cake with a candle. It was super sweet. And amazing yoga studio!

Chandra Ban is not only a fantastic eco-resort - beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms, fabulous food, lovely hosts (and Tsering the St. Bernard, ever-friendly and loveable guardian of the place); not just an oasis of tranquillity away from the dust and chaos of Kathmandu: Chandra Ban made us feel instantly at home. We were at Chandra Ban only for a short,...

Again, Chandra Ban supplied a haven of calm away from the madness of Kathmandu. Nestled in amongst the foothills, on the edge of the valley, the resort provides all a weary traveller needs to recoup and re-energise between busy days and travels around the area, Camilla and Luca's lovely home was a welcome sight after many hours of bone rattling...

Chandra Ban Eco Resort is a lovely weekend getaway, just on the edge of the valley. Its just 20 mins taxi from Thamel/ Lazimpat making it easy to get to. The views are beautiful and the air is clean. The staff are friendly and nice, and the food and amenities are all great. We had nice hot baths and fires...

We had such a wonderful time at Chandra Ban: it really is quite a paradise-y place, with a beautiful big terraced garden, a log fire, balconies, huge high-ceilinged rooms and even a yoga studio! (And hot water on demand, which is not to be underestimated in hotels in Nepal!) We arrived in the afternoon to be greeted by the most...

Everyone is very welcoming here, including the two dogs (one of which is a highly charismatic St Bernard). Some good walks available nearby, although you don't really want to leave the grounds: the pretty garden winds up the hill, and in the evening there was a wood fire by a shelf full of books. The cooking is highly recommended so...
