I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel itself is beautiful, with personality, unique art, and incredibly attentive staff. The location is ideal for travelers in Nepal, and the rates were very, very low. I had a great view from my 5th story room. Great amenities, tasty breakfast. Definitely will be visiting again next time I'm in Nepal!

the malla hotel is the best five star hotel ,as i have ever seen,services,staffs and it's history is fantastic.i had stayed just for 2 nights,my memories are so good.i myself is the gm of the Le Meridian hotel worldwide.the amenities,services,staffs are too good,always feel like to be back again.it's my pleasure to see manager on the floors. i met a young manager at the breakfast time.i forgot his full name,however i knew his sir name ,Mr.Nepai,he speaks fluently an English,as i was observing his way of talking to the other tables guest,with his smile he simply asked "how was the rooms,ac,if the hot water is coming,and if there is any problem ,let him know.once he heard the complained ,he dialed the phone and informed to the other departments,his service style is awesome,immediately he solves the problems,this type of service attitudes is required from the food and the beverage teams. he said"under the leadership of Mr.Ram Paudasaini,as a Food & Beverages Ass.Manager,working as a team . he even said there are lot of services staffs who have been working since 10 to 15 years and they are the real team of the food and beverages.like mr.Ram K.Gautam,Sunil,kiran karkii,Madhukar Giri,Rabindra,shambu ,ram K Wagle,puspanjali,malina,anjali,akarti,subina,they are the srong team of the food and bverages,with their support,advice,every day work has been successful. hrd,gm,bijaya Malla the owner,front office,housekeeping,laundary,enegenring teams are the back bone of the malla hotel,he said.really appreciated Mr.Neapli. Hotel location is good , average room with old decor but need a renovation in every place like lobby floors ,bathroom tiles , stairway . Room are ok but bed is not comfortable , bathroom is very small with limited toiletries,room service is irresponsive. We order water bottle but no one came even after waiting for 20 mins . Didn’t feel like staying in luxury hotel … Need a good renovation and service to meet that category.

Staying at the Malla Hotel was a good experience for me. At the very beginning, I would like to mention that the workers / staffs were excellent. One of the staffs at the swimming pool named Karuna gave me a swimming suit for which I paid her later as I didn't have the Nepali currency. I enjoyed the foods there. The small garden in front of the dining hall is really nice.

We had a wonderful stay and were very well looked after by all staff. Our room was spacious with a view of the lovely gardens. The hotel facilities were excellent, gardens to relax in, swimming pool, spa and beauty parlour - we can highly recommend the foot massage! The restaurant provided a very good breakfast selection and the evening menu was also varied. Would highly recommend.

I stayed in Hotel malla many times for my work. It's in great location, just few minutes walk away from Thamel. Front desk staff are very helpful and attentive to the guests needs, especially Ranjita Shrestha, she is very cooperative. All other staff takes good care of guest.They give 15 minutes complimentary messages to all check-in guest by the pool side spa. Though it is very old 5 star hotel, it seems like they are constantly improving. Rooms are comfortable and has all modern amenities. Morning breakfast is highlights, serve in their big and beautiful garden. I always enjoy my stay at Hotel Malla.

We stayed at the Malla Hotel for 4 nights. It's is a lovely hotel with great staff. It is so well located, on the edge of Thamel and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed the pool daily-nice to refresh after a day of walking in the warm weather and appreciated the free foot massage voucher! The room is comfortable and well serviced each day. Plenty of bottled water is provided. Breakfast and evening drinks in the garden are lovely. Staff are really helpful. This really is a little oasis in busy Kathmandu!

I was part of a National Geographic Trip that stayed at this hotel at the beginning and again at the end of our trip. I really liked this hotel. The people are exceedingly friendly and the location is PERFECT for lots of restaurants, shopping, and attractions. The rooms are generously sized and they have a lovely turn down service.
The grounds are truly lovely and outdoor space is a nice area of peace and tranquility in the middle of the busy city. The pool is also very nice. I enjoyed it one afternoon. I had a short foot massage by the pool and enjoyed it so much that I signed up for a 90 minute whole body massage. It was WONDERFUL. Part of the massage was pouring warm oil over my head. A LOT of oil. I have never had a massage like that and I really enjoyed it.
Lastly, the food is really good at the restaurant. The breakfast is a large buffet with lots of choices. Part of our group ate dinner there our first night in Nepal and we really enjoyed it. We wanted to eat outside, so they not only set up tables for us, they had an electrician come and set up some lights for us! The service was incredible.
At the end of our trip, we had two final nights at the Malla and it felt like coming home. Hopefully we'll be back in Kathmandu someday, and we will stay at the Malla!

The Malla Hotel is located in the city center of Kathmandu, with convenient transportation and a beautiful hotel environment. The food here is also quite delicious, and the staff will provide you with dedicated service. The person serving us during this meal is Subina, whom is a warm and lovely girl.
