This is an unexceptional hotel with an unwarranted pretension to be a 5-star property. My bed mattress was sagging at the edges (probably because of age or bad manufacture) and I had to insert a pillow below it level it off, and then managed to sleep. For WiFi in the room they wanted an additional $ 12. When I protested... More

We stayed here two weeks before and two nights after the earthquake. The hotel is billed as a five star but does not match up to a four star western hotel. It is very plush (in the lobby and restaurants) but some of the rooms eg on the ground floor to the left as you come in the main door,... More

Since I go to Kathmandu every year for climbing since more than 20 years, I have tried out most of the 5 star properties there but I always come back to Annapurna because this is the best place to stay. It is absolutely centrally located yet very quiet and peaceful inside. Has a huge swimming pool, great bar, absolutely fantastic... More

My sister and I stayed here in March 2015 (pre-earthquake) and we were happy with the accomodations. the rooms were clean and spacious, and our first room was very good (at the back of the hotel, overlooking the pool). Our second stay the room was in the front, overlooking the parking lot. This room was OK, not as good as... More

We were not even guests at the hotel during the earthquake but they saved us like messenger of god they provided us with shelter, food, blanket, pillows water and everything. Can never return what they did for us..a real heritage hotel for hospitality..wish they recover the loss they had during the disaster very soon..god bless all

As I write this review, news of the devastating earthquake in Nepal has rocked the world. With hundreds dead and thousands injured apart from the irrecoverable loss to the magical annd historical legacy that this awesome country has, my heart goes out to all those who have lost their kith and kin and I silently pray for God to give... First of all I must state you get what you pay for, cheap it is not! Having said that it is an excellent place to stay at the start and end of a trip to Nepal. Location is great for shopping and not too far from the Thamel area either which is a fifteen minute walk away. Rooms are very... More

Its smack on Durbar Marg where all the high endish shops are. You would have KFC and Pizza hut just outside the hotel. There are also several smaller eateries but this street is not for eating - its shopping branded stuff. Round the corner (10min walk is Thamel) There is also the Palace which is the end of Durbar Marg... More

Location of the hotel is very good. Darbar marg has all branded showrooms and restaurants. The hotel is old but nice. While check in one need to specify if smoking room is required. There are very few smoking rooms available and all are in ground floor only. Smoking rooms have disadvantage of not having floor carpets though tariff is same... More

Established in 1965 and named after Annapurna, the Goddess of Abundance, the Hotel provides the finest personal service and facilities in Nepal's fabled emerald valley, and its cultural, political and commercial capital. The Hotel has a total of 151 recently renovated Deluxe and Heritage guestrooms, including 5 suites, equipped with modern amenities such as the latest flat screen TV, bedside lighting & climate control unit, tea & coffee making facilities, mini bar and electronic safe. The atmosphere within the 5-acre property is warm and relaxed, the ambiance embracing the unique and friendly essence of Nepali culture and traditions. The Hotel is an architectural marvel, cleverly combining the local pagoda-style with contemporary flair. The Hotel is also famous for its popular eating outlets. The Coffee Shop is the all day, every day place for favourite eats and drinks and surprising new delights. The capital's most exotic Chinese restaurant, the Arniko Room, has established itself as one of the culinary wonders of modern Nepal. If the aristocratic flavour of fabled Mughal kitchens is more your to your taste, then Ghar-e-Kabab is the place to dine either alone or, better still, with your family and friends, AND when the sun goes down - or even a lot earlier - the Juneli Bar, stocked with the choicest drinks from around the world, is the perfect place to hit! In keeping with modern times, the Hotel is entirely Wi-Fi enabled. With extensive banquet and conferencing facilities, beautifully landscaped garden, one of the largest hotel swimming pools, well-equipped gym, business center and the most prestigious shopping arcade, our property is also within easy reach of religious, historical, cultural, architectural and shopping destinations, as well as Government offices, diplomatic missions and airline offices.
