The staff at Thamel Eco Resport was very friendly and helpful. We stayed here before and after flying to Lukla to trek to Everest Base Camp. The breakfast buffet that is included is very good and has a wide variety of food. The rooms are comfortable, bathrooms seem to be pretty typical of Kathmandu. I would highly recommend this hotel...

While in Kathmandu recently on a business trip, I stayed at Thamel Eco Resort for a week and had a wonderful experience. The room was large, comfortable, clean and bright, with a lovely view of the interior courtyard, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making sure a cab was waiting...

Thamel Eco Resort is the perfect location for either a peaceful honey and lemon tea, relaxing in a pretty garden or venturing out into the exciting, busling streets of Thamel. The rooms are spacious and quiet, nicely decorated and furnished, beds very comfortable, hot water, wifi.breakfasts good and ample. Staff friendly and very helpful. it is a great place to...

The staff is amazing, kind, and warm, always greeting me with a friendly smile and eager to make my stay more comfortable. I stayed here in Sept 2016, Dec 2016, and April 2017. Each time I returned, the staff welcomed me home with smiles and hugs, always remembering my name and making me feel like part of the family. I...

This hotel is fantastic and I can highly recommend staying here, the location cannot be beaten and whilst it is in central Thamel it is very quiet at the hotel, like an oasis. We stayed before and after our trip to Everest Base Camp via Phaplu which was organised by Makalu Adventures. The rooms are comfortable and very clean with...

Just last night my wife and I returned from our first trip to Nepal for a trek to Everest Base Camp. Our adventure was booked through Earthbound Expeditions and a wonderful gentleman named Rajan (separate review for EBE). Upon our arrival in Kathmandu we were immediately in awe of the chaos and energy of the area. Our guide drove us...

We stayed at the Thamel Eco Hotel before and after our Khombu Trail trek with Active Adventures Himalayas and loved every minute of our stay. The hotel is a quiet oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Thamel, and everything we wanted to see and do was close by. The breakfast each morning was hearty and delicious,...

Highlights, very friendly and accommodating staff and a great little restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meals are excellent, safe and very reasonably priced. We are not flying out until 2300 but had to vacate our room before 1200 as it has been prebooked. However, they have given us a ground floor room to store our luggage and...

From the moment I put my feet on the ground at the Thamel Eco Resort I was greeted with happiness and peace. This is truly a paradise in Thamel. And the name 'retreat' is perfect because you do feel that you are away from the busy hustle and busle of Thamel. The staff was amazing, the food delicious and the...
