Following my 2 week trekking tour, I spent some days in Pokhara and Kathmandu shopping and sightseeing. It did not long time to realize that I rather wanted to go to a quiet, peaceful place. I was very happy that I made this arrangement for then 4-day-Package in HIYA. It is a small oasis in a well-kept garden. I had...

Hi! Happy Sharing from Hong Kong! I enjoyed very much my 3 days stay at HIYA, though it was short, it's beneficial enough to feel rejuvenating in body, mind & soul.I said it's A TOTAL DELIGHTFUL GETAWAY FROM CITY LIFE. I recommended anyone to have a taste of the nurturing environment, delicious vegetarian food, relaxing massage, the comfortable room and...

I spent three nights at HIYA in September 2010, shortly after trekking the Anupurna Sanctuary trail. It was for a review I was writing for a travel guide, and I was able to spend some time talking with the founder ... a lovely man with a compelling story. You can read my review on Green Traveler Guides (dot) com -...

It is difficult to find peace just outside Khatmandu but this place does manage to achieve this somewhat. It is an excellent place to escape the chaos of Khatmandu. The yoga is mostly for beginners and people new to yoga. However, Dr. Subodh has extensive experience in yoga and it is possible for more advanced practitioners to learn new knowledge...

With views to the Monkey Temple and luscious, well-tended gardens, this is a delightful escape from the tourist areas of the city, though it's not free of some noise disturbance from the tuneless police band nearby, the occasional jumbo jet overhead and the local dogs strangling each other in the early morning. The early morning yoga class from 7-9am is...

But let me start from the beginning. The website is slick… good name: YogainNepal.com… I call and speak to a guy (who I later find out is the owner) and I asked he had a room with a bathroom in the room. He said yes. When I get there (there are no cabs coming or going…. you have to make...

It was a nice idea and I had an open mind when I arrived but it just did not work. The location was on the edge of Kathmandu and next to a military base, sun salutations with guns shots in the back ground is just not tranquil! The noise from the city and surroundings meant you were disturbed day and...

It was the first time for me and my sis to travel together abroad, and Nepal as a destination was definitely a good choice. We wanted to get a feel of the city but at the same time take such time as a respite from our stressful daily lives. HIYA provided just that. Its location, the very hospitable staff, the...

This was my second stay at Him. Yoga Academy and I will go again and again. The gardens and setting is so beautiful and after the chaotic scene of the Kathmandu Valley stepping inside the gates here is like entering Nirvana! YOur eyes just drink in the beauty of the flowers, butterflies and bird song that fill the Zen gardens....

this was my first time in Kathmandu and when I was looking through our taxi's window at that dirty town and struggled to breath that incredibly polluted air I just wanted to come back to the airport and fly anywhere... BUT then we arrived to this academy, luckly.. suddenly we were in a beautiful garden, warmly welcomed by the owner...
