Yeedzin Guest House, founded in 1997, is ideally located a few minutes away from the heart of Thimphu City. The family-run guest house has provided hospitality services for almost twenty years and is well established. Every guest at Yeedzin is personally attended to, assuring the best service to make your stay with us comfortable. The Guest House has recently been renovated, providing the ideal combination of modern amenities with traditional Bhutanese architecture and motifs, allowing all guests to have a truly authentic cultural experience. The courtyard is lined by prayer wheels, and the surroundings are adorned with the best of local flora, including rhododendrons and flowering fruit trees. We have a variety of rooms ranging from the spacious Deluxe Suite with attached kitchens, often used as apartments by long-staying guests, to the modest single rooms. Every floor is connected with Internet facility and Wi-Fi is free of charge for all guests. Our restaurant is located on the second floor and provides a uniquely Bhutanese dining experience, adorned with a display of traditional Bhutanese crockery, paintings and textiles. Yeedzin also has a handicraft store located on the ground floor. The store retails a wide range of traditional Bhutanese products and more recently offers our very own handbags, backpacks and purses made in a unique combination of leather and traditional Bhutanese textile. Also located on the ground floor is the Pure Vision Sorig Center, a traditional Bhutanese Healing and Wellness Center.

As another reviewer said, Yeedzin Guest House is nothing special, Location is good and the staff works hard. Heating is slightly inadequate by western standards and the beds are very hard but heavy blankets make up for the cold. The food here was substandard compared to all the other guest houses we visited. Dogs are a problem in Bhutan, sleeping all day and barking all night,

Stayed here as part of a tour. It was very clean. Wooden floors were super squeaky so if your roommate gets up in the night you are awake too. Lots of barking dogs in the night too so bring earplugs. Beds are very hard. Shower was very hot, difficult to get the right temperature. No elevator which was fine for us but would be a problem if you can’t climb stairs. We had dinner and breakfast there. Dinner was not good. I do not recommend the local wine. Breakfast was good. Service was excellent. The staff was very nice and went out of their way the help out in any way.

This was my 8th or 9th visit to Bhutan, but first time for me staying at Yedzeen Guest house. It is an old establishment, but that doesn’t really show as the property is very clean and well maintained. The best part of the Guest house for me is the location. It is right next to Le meridien (in the road right next to it). It is sufficiently close to the center of town but at the same time tucked away so that you don’t hear the barking dogs at the night. They also claim to have the only healing center (spa?) in Bhutan. It looked inviting but due to time constraints, I could not try it out. The food options although limited is good. Like most of the places in Thimphu, they too serve the breakfast in your room, which is great. The price is very reasonable, and Yeedzin is a great value for money option in Thimphu.

My husband and I have been staying at the Yeedzin for the past month in one of their 'apartments'. It is the absolute best location for enjoying Thimphu. It is a 'quiet' spot but located in the heart of the city. Yeedzin Guest House is an easy walk to great sights and restaurants, but do not miss the Jamphei Restaurant on the top floor of the Yeedzin Guest House! It is the BEST!!!! They made us fresh momos and ema datshi one evening while we sat next to the window with a view of the city. It was amazing. The staff is excellent!!! As a foreigner needing to wear traditional dress to school, the housekeeping staff assisted me daily to get my Kira just right, with the collar folded and all the details perfect. They started my day with a smile and kept our room spotless. The front desk manages to have smiles on their faces 24 hours a day. Mr. Rai made our reservations through emails from the US, it was so easy. His laugh is infectious ......we will miss everyone when we leave.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our 18 day Bhutan tour and its location is fabulous and it fits our brief is smaller traditional hotels. Our room (103) a twin room was adequate but no where near the palatial room mentioned in other reviews . It had a good heater, hot water and variable WiFi The WiFi was a problem for our entire stay and I think maybe out of the control of the hotel. When I had to make an urgent call a lovely staff member made a call and took me to a cafe in town that was still connected - very kind and very much appreciated ! The staff are very kind both at the front desk and in the dining room. The other factor which impacted our stay but was also out of the control of the hotel was the noise of barking dogs for hours in the night. Thimphu is getting overrun by stray dogs - they are everywhere and I suspect rabid. At night they howl for hours. Something really needs to be done about this!

Stayed at Yeedzin for a total of 9 nights over a period of about 15 days. It is clean and modern, but also quite classy. Affordable, and most of all - the customer service was top notch. If I have the good fortune to return to Thimpu, this will be my top preference. Highly recommended.

I have reviewed this place a number of times over the years, but I have to say after two recent visits late in 2017 it still just gets better. In 2017 I again led a tour group to Bhutan in September, and returned on a business trip in late October early November. Both times the people accompanying me were experiencing the hotel for the first time, they were all very impressed with the facilities and with the staff. The new addition since my previous visit is the small Spa, although I did not try this myself my tour participants and colleagues who used the services were very happy, in particular they thought the massages were great and lined up repeatedly. The hotel has a number of rooms that have a small sitting room and separate bedroom, these rooms are very comfortable and provide a nice private meeting space if travelling in a group. Most floors also have a small public sun/sitting room which is a great place to sit and read, write those postcards (especially after being to the post office and having personal stamps made). Each room has a small refrigerator, safe and tea and coffee making facilities, very homely and comfortable. I have booked my next tour group in again in April 2018.

I had the pleasure of staying with Rai and the team at Yeedzin Guest House for five nights. Rai was a great host and ensured I was enjoyed my stay at Yeedzin and Thimphu. I had a queen suite which included a spacious sitting area, coffee and tea making facilities and ensuite. The Guest House is ideally located and the gardens were beautiful.

Didn't know what to expect since stay was arranged by travel agent. Location is good - walking distance to town centre. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but the shower requires a bit of testing to get the right shower head and water temperature. Room and bathroom also has heaters. Generally quiet except for dogs barking in the middle of the night. Has very good wifi connection. Breakfast and dinner are pretty good too. There is Spa/Massage facility.
