Absolutely loved staying at the Horizon Hotel. Visiting Bhutan is not a race to check off all the attractions on a list but an experience to understand and feel the great countries' culture and it's people. I have to say that Meenaji & her husband went out of their to help us experience Bhutan. They customized our itenary to our taste and took great pains even to dress is up in traditional Bhutanese clothes. We loved spending time with their family and they went out of their way to make us comfortable. The hotel staff was amazing too. The price was just a steal. Other tour companies quoted us almost twice the amount. Meenaji took care of all our travel needs (including immigration) to and from Bagdodara airport too. she arranged our food and hotel stay at other towns as well and guided us to the best restaurants in town. I would say thatvwe wouldn't have enjoyed Bhutan so much if it wasn't for the folks at Horizon Hotel. We will be suggesting them to all our friends…
Amazing place with good hospitality and great view. Extremely helpful people. Spacious rooms and a friendly atmosphere. Would love to visit the place again. The plus point is the location of the Hotel.
Without no doubt one of the best hotel I along with my family stayed during trip to Bhutan. The owner n staff of this hotel was extremely friendly and their service is excellent.I luv the location of this hotel with magnificent views, restaurants with delicious stuffs.the.the room they provide for us was comfortable n hygienic in reasonable rates. I love to visit once this hotel if I make it out near by future thank you .surya from Darjeeling.
I like this hotel so much , view was cool and the hotel owner is too good, food and room was nice I was to comfortable in this hotel. If I will go Bhutan Thimphu again I will stay in this hotel. Thank you
the room, side view and stuff service was ok.but i face some problem of wi fi. the responsibility of hotel owner about tourist was fine.all over this hotel service is not bad.the owner have to update internet service and some Indian food.
The room was ok, but the owner changed the rooms without any intimation to the guests, the owner was not aware of working of wi-fi, even the owner said we don't want the customers , we have many. Very arrogant behaviour.
This place is located at the top of the hill, completely cut off from the main town. About 8-10kms from the central area of thimphu, the hotel maybe a bit inaccessible, specially if you’re looking for shopping or places to eat at in the vicinity. However if all you want is to wake up to a beautiful view, overlooking the entire town, surrounded by mountains and beautiful cherry blossom trees, this is your place! The staff are very friendly, specially the owner Mrs. Meenu. As far as food goes, you need to place your order in advance so they can have it ready. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. They also provide you heaters for the room at an additional cost (however we did not require cos the weather was pretty pleasant). I’m not too sure if they have wifi available at the property.…
Pros: 1> It offers the best view of the Thimphu river. 2> Nice homemade food provided by the owners. 3> Clean rooms. 4> Nice common seating place. Cons, 1> It is located a little far from the city and does not have any shops nearby, so not preferable if you are not travelling with groups. Overall the place was nice to stay.
As we were looking for a budget hotel at Thimphu, we found this at booking.com and it seemed ok with us. We booked 3 rooms for 7 persons. Budget triple bed was $40 per night and standard double bed was $30 per night. We directly went to Thimphu as soon as we landed at Paro Airport. We faced difficulties to locate the hotel as it is located in uphill. After searching a while and talking with the owner over the phone (very difficult to reach her because of ups and downs of the network) we finally found it. The outside view of the hotel is not lucrative at all.. But the view of the Thimphu city, Raidak river and the side view of Buddhu Dordenma was really something very different and eye soothing. For that view, I ranked this hotel with 4*. Rooms are spacious, well decorated, but you need to ask them to increase another room heater as this is in the corner of the hill and heavy cold wind comes through the window. The owner of the hotel is a lady and she lives in the same compound. She is very friendly and supportive. If you want to order food, kindly give it around 2 hours before. And it would be wise if you ask them to prepare because it's difficult to go to the city from the hotel without any vehicle especially in the evening time. As a whole it was nice experience for me and my travel mates also liked it. …
