We stayed for two nights on our excellent Swallow Tail tour for three. This was our first hotel in Bhutan and it was excellent. The staff were gentle and polite. Both the public rooms and our rooms were very clean and attractive. There was a lift to our second floor rooms which were very spacious with large very comfortable beds, large flat screen television, safe, fridge, tea making, desk and chair, lounge and coffee table. The bathroom was convenient with a shower over a bath. There was a hair dryer, toiletries and a make-up mirror. The water was hot, although it did see-saw from warm to hot in the shower. Still I was in the Himalayas and it was -2C outside so I was not complaining. On the ground floor there was a bar and a large attractive restaurant where we had both breakfasts and dinners. The food was fresh, varied and tasty. The portions were very generous and the service was courteous and attentive. Thimphu is a ‘city’ which is growing rapidly along the main road. The only down side of this hotel for us was that it was located too far from the centre of town for us to walk in. This was not a problem for us really as in January, although the days were lovely and sunny, by the evening it was too cold for us to be outdoors anyway.…
Tara Phendeyling hotel was the best in terms of size, service and quiet. The hotel only serves vegetarian food which is great. The staff are service oriented and the rooms are large with all the featured required to make your stay comfortable. I will stay at this hotel again. Great job Tara Phendeyling! Keep it going.
The hotel is luxury (for me): rooms are spacy, luxurious, the hotel has sauna, spa, gym, has great meals and is quite. The staff is polite. The location is pretty good and after all, the price was almost budget!
We were in Thimphu for 2 nights and has stayed at Tara Phendeyling. We were initial given a double that was later upgraded a triple. The double was small and accomodate only 2, however the triple was quite spacious. Food was excellent and was veg only (egg alone was there) which worked perfectly for us. The spread and quality of food was decent. Their momos are a must try he staff were friendly. They have sauna /steam room that is not be missed. Overall a decent hotel
For a conference we were in Thimphu Bhutan recently and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and found the hotel to be fairly good with large rooms, good service and all amenities that you normally need during your stay. Breakfast however had a limited spread. Overall a pleasant experience.
Had a chance of staying with this nice hotel with well appointed rooms and excellent front office staff. It has all the facilities with good restaurant, food, spa and small shop in the basement. Would sincerely recommend this property.
It's a very good hotel with very good hospitality. Very clean and neat rooms we didn't get buffet breakfast but the few options they had were very good. This hotel has only vegetarian and egg in their menu. Good spa but expensive.
Like other reviews, this was our first hotel arranged by our tour operator. Room was comfortable, good in-room WIFI and air conditioning. Breakfast was very good and included in the rate. The restaurant was one of the best we had during our trip - but we were not advised that it was vegetarian. This was no problem for us, but if you need meat on the menu, you'll have to go elsewhere. But the veggie-based menu was extensive and very fresh.
This was our first stop in Bhutan and this hotel was arranged by our tour operator as part of our package. We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was on the 3rd floor, very spacious and bed was very comfortable. The hot water took a while to start so we had to get the water running for a while first. The room comes with toiletries, towel and coffee/tea making facilities. WIFI was good and stable. The hotel has a spa centre with massage, steam room, sauna as well as a gym. Food was good, but do note that this is a vegetarian hotel, eggs are served but no meat.
We did not book this hotel as everything is done by Official Tour Operators and we paid $250 US per day and asked for 3 Star accommodation. From stepping off the plane I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the country and the air was a lot cleaner than Nepal ( sorry Nepal). The hotel was great and the service impeccable. Room was a nice size and very clean and tidy. It was also well appointed with fridge, cable tv and air conditioning. We also had a complementary use of the steam too and sauna. The hotel is close to the main attractions and as we had a local guide and transportation getting to places is not a problem. You will have to check on the Government Tourism website how things work as I am pretty sure you can’t freelance here but in saying that this hotel was great.
