We stayed at Pemako in Thimphu, Bhutan during our visit in March 2024 and it was an absolutely beautiful experience. The property is stunning and the hospitality is so warm and rooted in tradition and warmth. Our stay for the entire duration was extremely comfortable and amazingly looked after by a warm and friendly team. I would like to give a shoutout to Hana, who very graciously welcomed us and made sure everything was comfortable and we were well acquainted with the hotel. She also made sure and checked in for us to have the opportunity to wear the traditional Bhutanese dress and we were very touched with her thoughtfulness. I would also like to give a shoutout to Sonam who was extremely warm and took amazing care of us during our meals at the restaurant. Thank you Pemako for giving us a wonderful experience and we are already planning our round two trip, courtesy the amazing hospitality!

The hotel welcomed us warmly with a traditional 'kata' greeting and yak butter tea, followed by a prayer led by a monk within the hotel premises. They provided us with traditional Bhutanese clothing for a day, assisted us in wearing them, and hosted cultural events every night featuring traditional dances and songs.
Breakfast was delicious, accompanied by a musician playing soft, calming tunes on a flute and a Bhutanese string instrument. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool was exceptionally clean. They also had an excellent sauna and steam room.
The hotel's location was ideal, with numerous attractions nearby. After checkout, I realized I had forgotten my sunglasses. Upon informing the staff, they promptly found and safely stored my glasses for two days until I collected them on my return journey.
Overall, I was impressed by the hotel's hospitality and emphasis on cultural immersion. Simply remarkable.
and of course , the rooms and the hotel is extremely beautiful.

Our stay at the Pemako Thimpu was wonderful in every way. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location to explore the city, the food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious, and we really appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the entire staff. We also enjoyed the cultural show they put on which showcased traditional Bhutanese music and dance accompanied by some snacks. Special shoutout to Pema Zangmo, Tshering Pem, Padma, and Santosh in the front office and the entire food and beverage team who even accommodated a last minute request for a traditional Bhutanese meal. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Thimpu.

We stayed in their luxury suite at the 4th floor, which was fabulous with mesmerising views of largest budda and the surrounding mountains. Each one of the hotel staff was very caring and helpful. The Chef deserves a special mention, that he prepared and served whatever special dishes we asked for without any hesitation. Overall we had an excellent stay at Taj Tashi.

The staff is very attentive to all of our needs. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very delicious with many different options available. We also enjoyed the cultural event in the evening which combined music and dancing around a camp fire.

The whole experience came off to a great start where they welcome you and take care of you like their own . Day one was fabulous , the food was great exceeded all our expectations. Moving on to day 2 ( maybe the guest load was high) the quality of food started dropping, the dosa was burnt , fruits were smelly . The chef promised us different dinner but since there were unexpected guests they made us wait for 2 hours and just gave us make shift dinner ! All in all the staff is amazing and super friendly made us feel like home but it just deteriorated from day 1 to day 3. Hope this feedback is taken in a constructive manner and all guests are treated like how they are on day 1 then maybe the prices are worth selling your kidney 😂

The welcome at the hotel was so warm. People there didn't just stop smiling. Welcome tea was delicious. Deluxe room had a beautiful decor and was very spacious. Bed linens were sparkly white, so were the towels. The room has a lot of furniture to keep your belongings. Two big cupboards, iron, ironing table, complimentary Mini Bar, etc. The evening cultural dance was refreshing. The Hotel provided complimentary Steam, Sauna, Heated Swimming Pool, Gymnasium and Archery as an activity. The food was very delicious. The staff was gracious to take 'n' number of orders according to our four year old child's requirement. They customized the dishes that were not even on the Menu. Their authentic Thukpa was as delicious as was Indian Dal Tadka, Tandoori Roti, Aloo Puri, Dosa, Idli, etc. They spoil you with options of bakery items in their Breakfast Menu. Mr. Sonam Penjor made us feel very special when he presented us with a farewell sweet dish. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a truly memorable one. Would like to mention a few of the Staff Members who provided exceptional services Mr. Sonam Penjor, Ms. Geeta, Tshering Pem and Aman.

On the first day when I arrived in Bhutan, I chose to stay at Pemako Thimphu hotel because it is located right in the city center, convenient for traveling and sightseeing.
In addition, a special feature of Pemako is that any tourist who chooses to rest here, before checking in, will be blessed by the monk 😇
My feeling when staying here is that it is very comfortable, the traffic moves smoothly, the staff are enthusiastic and very professional, especially Hana (who was assigned by the hotel to take care of me). I returned to the hotel at 8:00 pm & needed to prepare a surprise dinner for my friend, I asked Hana to quickly set it up, and she was very enthusiastic in assisting. What I appreciate most is that I needed a cake, the kitchen team quickly made a delicious fresh cake within 2 hours 👍🏻😍
100 points for professionalism and it couldn't be better👍🏻

We visited Thimphu and stayed two nights in this beautiful resort, which looks like a palace. The resort is nestled between mountains with gorgeous views. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was attentive and friendly, and we were treated with genuine Bhutanese hospitality throughout our stay. The main restaurant serves different cuisines but primarily focuses on Indian and Bhutanese dishes. Everything we tried there was delicious. We also tried their conventional Bhutanese restaurant, which had fantastic decor and personalized service. The hotel also provided us with traditional attire Gho and Kira to wear and entertained us with a lovely cultural program by the fire outside. Overall, it was a memorable experience that I would like to recreate someday.

If you want to be pampered and treated like a king, and queen, Taj Tashi Hotel in Thimphu is the place to stay. The traditional Bhutanese design and surrounding garden grounds are a quiet sanctuary. What makes this hotel par- excellence is the staff, everyone goes out of their way to get to know you, to check on how you are doing, to offer opportunities to explore more of their culture. On our first night, we were able to dress in traditional Bhutanese garb, attend a beautiful dance performance, and participate, then have dinner. Their strength is focusing on the smallest details. They noticed it was my husband’s birthday while we were staying here and surprised him with a decorated room and birthday cake. We were able to use the spa, the hot rock bath is unique to Bhutan and offered a wonderful respite from all of the hiking. Every member of the staff from the front door greeter to the restaurants, to the front desk, to housekeeping are fantastic, if only we had this much grace and care where we live. Tika Ram, the duty manager was leading the charge and is a fantastic man, he was on top of everything.

The hotel is 8 years old as it is one of the first 5 star hotels in Bhutan. It is the Taj ans the name itself stands for something!!!!!! Considering the feedback that our other valued guests have written down here, I would urge you to stay with us and develop an opinion of your own as well.....
Warmly,
