The food was superb! It´s really one of the best deals in town. Nowhere else we have eaten better in Uganda. Staff and the owner are friendly and helpful. Only the rooms are not so good. The toilet was dirty and the room very hot at night, stuffy and small. At the end, we would give arround three and a... More

The restraunt at this hotel is unique in that it is a set 4 course dinner...you choose the BBQ item for the grill...steak, chicken, whole fresh Tilappia fish, Goat, or a vegetarian feature..we have eaten at this restraunt several times in each of the last 4 years and have always been most impressed with the service and in particular the... stayed ten days, the service was excellent and the food was so tasty and cooked to its perfect taste, I would recommend Tuhende Safari Lodge very strongly. If you have already booked at another place I beg you to just go eat at Tuhende Safari Lodges in Old Kampala.

We chose this hotel because it is excellently located at walking distance of the bus terminals. This is a good but basic hotel. And when I say basic I mean REALLY basic: beds are small and the shared bathroom is of the 'no frills' type. The double room we had was too hot in the night, even in October. Therefore... More

I stayed here in July of 2012 for 2 nights in the dorms. The place is clean and the staff are friendly, though the layout is a little odd. The mosquito nets were well placed and had no holes, which is rare in cheap backpacker places in Uganda. There are 2 dormitories, each with 2 rooms of 4 beds each.... More

Recommended! This was a good backpacker place right in the craziness of Kampala. The food was great, and the showers were warm. While some of the other backpacker places may be better for meeting other people, Tuhende kept you right in the action of Kampala. However, with this, comes a lot of city noises (dog chorus at 4 in the... More

I should start by saying that we haven't stayed anywhere else in Kampala, so it's hard to know what the standard should be. However, having read the many reviews here we were quite disappointed. Granted that most of the reviews focus on the food, which we never got to try (despite the written assurances of the management team that the... More

Place is good! Best thing about it is staff, veeeery friendly and helpful. Dorms are big and spacey and price for dorm is good (usd7), unlike rooms that are expensive (usd30) comparing to competition. food is amazing. location is ok, a bit of hassle passing through bus terminals on the way to center. another downside is that they are out... “The dorms are wonderful, the beds are spacious and mosquito nets acquired. Most of the time they don't have so many guests, so you don't even have to share your dorm. Think about it as your private space and don't worry about drunken back packers waking you up at night!”
