This was my 5th stay at the Acropole, once again at the start and end of an archaeological tour in North Sudan. The room was spotless, the water hot and the aircon. efficient. The breakfasts and dinners I had were all very tasty. We were welcomed at 3am and seen off at midnight by George. When do he and his...

The Acropole is perfect. A friendly, helpful, clean, full-service, all-needs-satisfied place. They did so much to make my trip great, in addition to the great rooms --with wifi (a rarity in Sudan!), television (!), and my favorite perk: free clean water. Cold bottled water in the room, coolers filled with cold or hot water. The proprietors are a family and...

The Acropole has the best service of anywhere I've ever stayed, hands down. The family that runs it goes out of their way to help you, whatever you need. The rooms are large, clean & comfortable. The meals are good (especially breakfast), although a little bit pricey in my opinion. They also run an excellent free city tour for guests...

Acropole hotel delivers a great personal service - centrally located just few blocks off Nile St. From great airport pickup to fully equipped room with A/C, refrigerator (complementary soda drinks and water) handles the challenging registration process. In house restaurant serves adequate inexpensive meals. Even a free 4hr City tour on a Friday afternoon that includes the not-to-be missed Whirling...

Two brothers who are Greek but born in Sudan and inherited the hotel from their parents operate this hotel. If you need anything done within the country the brothers are able to get it done. The facilities are not the best in the world but the rooms are always clean, the WiFi is free and always working and reasonably fast,...

Our 10 member group arrived in the middle of the night. Acropole staff met us at the airport, making us feel more than welcome. We stayed 3 nights in a quiet, well maintained hotel. The air-conditioned rooms were clean and more than comfortable. The breakfast and dinners were more than first rate. The staff, including the owners were most gracious....

There is simply no other place to stay in Khartoum. I am a journalist and on my first visit, I stayed, unthinkingly, in a faceless five star hotel which felt like a moon base. Next time, I switched to the Acropole and it transformed my image of Khartoum and of Sudan. The family that run it, Greeks who have been...

We arrived in the middle of the night with no prior booking and were made to feel very welcome. All the staff are friendly and the management team are thoroughly professional, very experienced and know everything you could possibly want to know about Sudan. The hotel is comfortable and spotlessly clean. I have just been on the complimentary tour of...

I have been a visitor of Khartoum since quite some time. Always stayed at Hilton and Salam rotana hotel. These being the very high end premises. I still don't know how I was booked in this hotel on my last visit. I just got in love with it. You feel as you are at home and all your basic needs...

I have recently spent almost 2 weeks at the centrally-located Acropole and would highly recommend it. In contrast to more modern hotels, it offers excellent standards of personal service, being owned and run by a Greek family (Georgio, Paulo and other members) who have the welcome gift of treating their guests as friends and of ensuring that needs are always...
