The Novotel lived up to my expectations, being a chain hotel, you expect a certain standard of room size, decor, cleanliness, service and facilities. The Dakar hotel deserves its four stars. The hotel is located on the southern edge of the downtown district (which is the heart of the city), right on the coast. The views from the hotel windows...

Not bad, clean but dark rooms, the windows are extremly dirty. Free internet in the rooms witch never works except at the weekends. A constant smell of petrol and smoke outside the hotel. The whole city is like this so not the hotels fault. A bottle of water is 4000CFA! That's a joke!

I can't say enough about the amazing staff. Though not everyone spoke English, I was catered to throughout my stay. Dakar is absolutely no country club. Poverty, homelessness and despair paint the entire city. 90% of the city looks like post Katrina New Orleans. People commonly sleep in the streets. The hotels are among the 10% of the city that...

I'm just at the tail end of a ten-day business stay at the Novotel and wanted to share my positive experience. The hotel was well-situated for my business dealings in the city and was convenient for a weekend trip to the Ile de Goree. If you know in advance, contact the hotel for their shuttle to and from the airport...

I'm compelled to write this as I can get into the business centre which isn't open 15 mins after the advertised time. The staff are unprofessional, discourteous, rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was good except no milk, no coffee, no bowls and when I asked the response was curt! I did think on arrival that it was going to be a...

I just came back from a business trip in Dakar and stayed at the Novotel. I must say i was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit worried about the quality of the rooms and the Dakar airport left me wondering what the rest of the city was like. But the hotel is very nice, clean, convenient. It's somehwat small, and...

For very short stay this would be an acceptable place to be. Arrival desk and assistance without problem while signing in and out. Rooms clean, but missing extra handy facilities as the fridge stayed empty during my four (4) days attendance. Clean shower facility, apart/seperate toilet. Toilet seat set for giant guests as they are hanging to high for normal...

I hope you get a good rate for the rooms (around 100 euros). If not, the rooms are not really worth it. They are very basic. No ironing board or iron, no decorations on the walls, no gym (the swimming pool is OK but watch out that Dakar could get chilly so do not count on using it). This is...

I spent two nights at the Novotel in Dakar: the breakfast was fantastic, the rooms clean and well furbished, the location of the hotel very practical (close to the ferry for the island of goree and the city centre). The bus shuttle from the airport to the hotel was waiting for us at 3am at our arrival (I got there...
