When the taxi stopped in the city center to call the hotel and the manager met us and had to take us in personally I instantly had a bad feeling and was regretting my decision to stay here. But once we checked in (they upgraded us to a mini apartment which was way more space than we needed), turned-on the...

We paid 40.000CFA in a apartment with 2 double beds. Very damp and stuffy rooms. The apartment had no windows in the bedrooms and it smelled like no door or window had been opened up there for months! The rooms were clean enough if you dont count in the kitchen where you could find a clean plate. On the bright...

Stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting Dakar. Staff very friendly although limited English. Rooms basic and clean, kitchen in bedroom has limited crockery or potential for cooking. Comfortable bed, good functioning air conditioning. Very safe area of Dakar however difficult to get taxis to the hotel as often taxi drivers did not know the location of the hotel. Occasional...

The apartments are big and clean. Wifi worked and the street where Kakatar is located gives you a great view on local life in Yoff. Conveniently close to the airport (pick up for €10) and the staff is friendly. Do not miss breakfast on the rooftop! Not far from Almadie and also easy taxi ride to downtown Dakar.

But man, we had to scrub down the whole kitchen, including all dishes and utensils, before even thinking about using it. And it was like pulling teeth trying...

We stayed at kakatar for a month in May 2011. Price wise it is on the lower middle range with the studio that we rented at 630 euros for the entire month, but the confort is better than most London luxury hotels: we had king size beds and our own kitchenette (we were on 3rd floor), private balcony and A/C....

The constant sound of shhhhh from the nearby ocean, coupled with breezes that rival any tropical setting, are what occupy you superficially. This allows a deeper relaxation and introspectio, as you enjoy the land and seascapes of this emerging area. Rich wood finish and afropolynesian inspired decor are maintained daily...oh,here's housekeeping now! Bonjour... And, if the duration of your visit...
