We stayed at Hotel Thule for two nights - on the way on our adventure and on the way back. The beds were comfortable but the place needs a lift. Old hotels often miss the point that in order to keep up with the new places popping up everywhere, they need to upgrade! It just looked tired - some modernizing...

We only stayed one night here, it was reasonable for that purpose. The staff was nice. The place is more of a motel than a hotel and seems to serve largely for business people or travellers spending a night in Windhoek before heading off into the rest of the country or catching a flight. The bar is nice and the...

The great location (i.e. the brilliant view) is certainly the top attraction of this hotel. Although the staff was friendly and the rooms large, roomy and clean the hotel is 'dated' and 'kitschy' (at least in the eyes of this more modern-oriented European traveler). Price/quality is good - and hence the 'very good' rating (iso an average rating).

Great staff and wonderful accommodations for the price. Cozy room with a great supply of amenities. Coffee, tea, and excellent bathing supplies. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Can't wait to come back in July.

I was very impressed by the service that I received from the staff and management. Everyone that I dealt with was friendly, professional and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The views of Windhoek from the bar and restaurant area are breathtaking. There were a few aspects that I found slightly disappointing. My room only had a shower and...

Stayed at this hotel on our first and last night of our self drive holiday in Namibia. The hotel is well run and staff are very good. Our first room was excellent (12) and second room (10) was ok. The restaurant is very good for both evening meal and breakfast and the waiter Jackson was excellent. Secure parking and we...

We stayed two nights with a group tour. Lovely views and at night you can see the city lights and sunset. Breakfast has a good selection to choose from and the omelet that I ordered was very good. Staff are friendly. The room is clean and large. Air conditioner works, but no heat. Bad lighting except in the bathroom. Our...

This is not only beautiful hotel but a well run one! The service was top class, the staff were pleasant and always ready to address your needs. I must single out Freda who seems to be able to do anything! She is a gem. And, yes, the view!!! Great place, great service!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Thule was originally a one-time luxury home built by the late Edmund Lafrenz in 1960 as a sumptuous home for himself and his late wife, Liselotte. It was purchased by Windhoek businessman and entrepreneur, Wolfgang Egerer just before the turn of the century, who then reconstructed it into the beautiful up-market 25 bedroom hotel it is today. The outstanding panoramic views over Windhoek are a unique and unparalleled feature of this pearl of Namibia.
