We stayed here for a night at the start of a trip to Namibia. Having just got off the long flight from London to Windhoek (via SA) we drove in from the airport and found the Olive Grove to be a great place to stay for our first night. The staff were very helpful and the rooms whilst unusual had... More

We stayed at there bevor our flight home - in a suite. It was impressive and the food was lovely too. Very friendly hosts. Overall a great place to stay while in Windhoek. The suite is recommended. Giant bathtub which we used and enough space to gather all things together for the flight back. Also a fast wifi in the... More

This is a very good place to stop for a night when passing through Windhoek. It's only a short drive from downtown and has an above average restaurant. The staff are friendly and accommodating. One thing that is unusual is that the rooms are virtually all poured concrete even the bed frame and sinks, so don't hit your head. In... More

A great place to stay in Windhoek. Very good food, interesting wine (if I can find the receipt and so remember the Namibian makers), helpful team running it. Bathroom tub very popular with the family. Room very close to the dining but that seemed to work well for us and hopefully the other guests. Good music recommendation for our driving.

We started our 3 weeks in Namibia and Botswana with one night at this guest house, after 4 in Cape Town. We arrived after dark and left early, so really did not get to see the place. But our room was very comfortable and dinner was excellent. The service was excellent also.

Stayed here the last night of a 2 week sojourn through Namibia. Everything about our experience was very good. Laid back elegance would be the best way to describe it and a bit of an oasis in what is an otherwise pretty dreary town. The service was very good and check in - out was effortless. The restaurant was very good... More

After a long flight in, and at the start of our 3 weeks journey through Namibia, 1 night at this guesthouse did bring us into the right holiday mood. Nice rooms with all comfort (with heating/cooling ...we needed the heating at night), attentive staff, small pool (is more for the look and feel when taking pictures, not really for swimming... During a hunting trip to Namibia in July we stayed at the Olive Grove for a night after flying NY to Johannesburg to Windhoek. The hotel had a very spa like feel. It was easy for the cab driver to find, the rooms were excellent and the port was a nice surprise to the evening. It was rather chilly the... More

We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff at the Olive Grove. Rooms were large and the bathroom enormous. Pre dinner drinks were very civilized and led into a great dinner on the patio under propane heaters. We had asked if there was any chance of getting some much needed laundry washed and dried before we left... More

I am a travel agent and led a group of 7 to Namibia in July 2014. Our last night in Windhoek was spent at the Olive Grove Guesthouse. Everyone was totally delighted with the 4 rooms we had and thought the food was absolutely delicious. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I look forward to bringing another... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Olive Grove is a small upmarket accommodation establishment situated close to the city center in a quiet, peaceful area. The guesthouse takes homely atmosphere to a different level. Recently completely refurbished, each room has been decorated and painted with new colour schemes allowing a different feel, but with the same elegant and simplistic emphasis on decor. The open-plan kitchen allows guests to see how meals are prepared, while they enjoy a drink in the lounge. The menu was also reinvented and is now fully a la carte, quite unique for a guesthouse. Home-style food is rounded off with great presentation, pushing up the level of the guesthouse dining experience. Whilst each of the eleven rooms and one suite cater for every need of the most discerning traveller, the emphasis remains one of simplicity and elegance. ... more   less
