Celebrated by 50th birthday in style at the Grand Dame of Maputo. As I am not local, I was guided by the ever so gracious Banqueting Director Suresh Kumar, who made it the occasion most memorable. The setting was on point, the service excellent, the local Mozambican food was delicious and the music simply great!

The hotel looks a bit oldish but I like the "old Lisbon atmosphere". Rooms are very clean and comfortable, good wifi connection. But the absolute best for me is the spa/fitness center. Beautiful pool, saunas and good gym with friendly staff

We visited Polana Hotel a while back and it was super. All my family members loved this hotel. The buildings & grounds are beautiful. The service is great, loads of drinks and food options and lovely big comfortable beds. Polana is the Grand Old Lady of Mozambique.

Very well located and the fact that the hotel is setting overlooking Indian Ocean invites everyone to visit, rooms are beautiful and the service very personal, and a great place to meet clients and do business. The food choice is great, love the swimming, workout room and sauna. Have stayed there many many times and never had problems with Internet....

Incredible setting and atmosphere let down by severely underperforming staff. AC in room not repaired after 3 requests, cold "hot dishes" all 3 mornings ( almost all), very slow bar service, extremely dirty pool area days after public jazz event. All lay witness to a poorly run hotel with a great potential. At the premium prices charged you would expect...

Beautiful location, historic building, beautiful rooms. Bar offers a terrible service whatever the time of the day. The staff is absolutely not concerned by the customer service. Sushi bar is nice, service is better. Main restaurant is nice with good buffet. Swimming pool and gym areas are great.

I've stayed at 5 other Serena Hotels, and loved them all, but this is one of the finest. We stayed there for 2 nights in one of the suites. Room was wonderful. Food was great with a very wide selection. Probably what we enjoyed the most was chilling on the balcony, and using the pools/sauna. Was also good they had...

Visited for a morning and lunch after a getting off a ferry and before going to the airport. Situated just 5 minutes from the port and 15 minutes from the airport, this is a lovely colonial style hotel, v attractive grounds where we just sat and read, drinking tea and then eating excellent Club and Steak sandwiches for lunch. Authentic hotel with reasonable to sometimes great service. Food could be better though. Size of the sushi is bigger than usual, but taste could not tempt me. A pity.
