So this place tries very hard. They are a pleasant staff, they want to help with the wifi problems, the light problems, and the hard beds. But only money and investment can fix some problems. The rooms are quiet as long as no one is moving around and there are no noises from outside. The bed is rock hard. Let me emphasize that: rock hard. The restaurant has a limited menu, and its pretty simple. But to close on a positive note, the staff is very friendly, and their facade of security is entertaining...
The hotel is acceptable. Not great, but not bad. However the wifi is quite poor. It would the signal would drop off at times. And even with a full signal, the speed was marginal for doing much of anything. The breakfast buffet was tasty, but limited in choices. I had lunch one day, and the grilled fish was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Be advised, laundry may take two days to get it back, so watch out if you are leaving.
Had a 12-day stay at the Hotel Iman recently. I want to start by saying the picture of the hotel with the pool shows the original hotel building, which still stands. The restaurant is on the bottom floor and the pool and a hot tub are still functioning. A newer building across from this building is where the main office and newer rooms are and is where I stayed, I had a suite on the 5th floor and found it very nice. However, like most of the reviews - the mattresses are TERRIBLE, it felt like I was sleeping on the ground. I confirmed with my companions, their rooms had the same TERRIBLE mattresses. If the mattresses were replaced, this could easily be a four or five star review. The staff are great and most speak enough English if a visitor doesn't speak French. There are a number of security personnel and there is a security checkpoint where all guest have their luggage screened. Single elevator and lights on each floor are activated by a motion sensor. I saw a wifi router on each floor. During the majority of my stay, I had no difficulty having a wifi connection. When I did, I simply turned my device's wifi off and back on, connected, and had no further issues. For my stay, breakfast was included. Coffee, juices, bread, eggs, fruit and a variety of sausages, chicken, steak. I did visit the restaurant for dinner and found the menu offered a variety of food options. The ONLY down side I found at the restaurant, was the staff and some patrons would leave the restaurant doors open, so on two occasions the flies were so bad, I asked for my meal to be wrapped and I took it back to my room. There is a small store on the corner from the hotel. No prices so after one visit where I thought I might have paid too much, I started having a local friend go and purchase what I needed. Discovered he paid much less than I would have. No other restaurants or stores nearby worth visiting that we saw. I did discover laundry was free, but the service isn't advertised. This might be because it's only for guest staying for a minimum number of days. Check out was very easy. Since this was a business trip, I asked for my accounting to be separated; one accounting showing just room and the other any incidental expenses and the staff were very accommodating. Travel advisors say due to credit card fraud, visitors are encouraged to pay only in cash. I did but a traveling companion used their VISA card and to date have reported no issues. The hotel offers an airport shuttle. Can't say how reliable it is, we had a private driver. We were also told it is illegal to take local currency out of the country. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and we would stay at this hotel again.…
Cool cozy apartment, less then 100$ a night, internet worked good, A/C worked good, kitchenette, water heater for making coffee. Then Breakfast was good, food prices are reasonable, little store nearby to buy snacks and stuff
The rooms were big and very comfy. Rooms included a couch and kitchen. My stove did not work and in the first room the toilet did not work. I was moved and the next room had no wifi. I complained for exactly 3 days and the hotel gave me a wifi booster. The sand was more helpful then that thing. I had to walk down the hallway to get a signal which was unacceptable. Furthermore, I asked to speak with manager and that request was never fulfilled. I decided to change hotels and the staff was begging me to stay but I would not stay again unless the hotel has changed. The breakfast was good and the food for the most part was good but as previous reviews, not everything is ever available. The best thing about the hotel honestly was the cleaning staff.
All of the employees were very nice, and the rooms were very big. However, there were a few things that would not see me visiting this hotel again: I had an uninvited visitor in my room (mice), but the hotel staff was kind enough to move me to another room. The lights outside of the rooms are activated by sensors, so when you step out of your room at night it's like a blackout until the light trip on (safety concern). Breakfast was sometimes available when I went to the restaurant, and the dinner meal was very disappointing (pass on the lamb). The restaurant should have installed a device to control all the flies.
I was there for 2 weeks. The hotel was very good in comparison with the rest of hotels in the city but the restaurant was the slowest I've ever seen, nevertheless the food was good. The rest of services were good, and there were big and comfortable rooms. I missed more security on the entrance.
Decent accommodation, but expensive. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Transport to the airport was available and on time. I stayed in the apartment suite which was reasonably well furnished. The windows would be better with a mesh to keep off mosquitoes.
Place was very boring but the hotel staff maintained what they have very well. Only one English speaking channel in the tv (when it worked). Room was cleaned everyday, but make sure you bring your own wash rag. Restaurant takes a very long time to prepare meals but had a nice variety.
Room was small but ok, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, air-conditioning, well maintained swimming pool just big enough for exercise, Try the lamb cutlets, pizza. Free airport shuttle although when i was waiting for a taxi at 4am in the morning to go to the airport they never mntioned it. Very basic Breakfast included.
