This hotel was amazing! After staying in pretty basic accommodation for 4 weeks, my one night stay at this hotel was heaven. Probably not the best place to stay if you want to get a proper "Malagasy experience", but it is definitely worth checking out. The hotel has about 3 restaurants, a casino, gym, pool, spa, bars.. and amazing views...

We stayed 2 nights in Tana at the Carlton - a welcome refuge after a long journey. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was good. We were most impressed, however, by the initiative taken by the front desk staff in tracking us down at breakfast to inform us of a schedule change to our outbound flights -...

I have stayed many times at the Carlton in Tana. It is an old hotel and would need a serious renovation (the beds in particular are quite hard, the rooms and furniture are old). The good points are: i) the hotel staff are very friendly and lovely, and ready to help; ii) it´s not very expensive; iii) overall quite comfortable....

We stayed here multiple times with visits out to the periphery. The swimming pool is lovely. The wireless works well by Madagascar standards. There are good shops. The rooms are cool. The restaurant has decent food. It is unsafe to walk nearby with anything of value but that is true elsewhere in Tana.

Very good hotel, nice professional stuff. We got a pleasure staying 2 weeks there like at home. And, the most important note. There is a cafe " Cherry" in lobby, the best cakes in the world, "Foret noir" highly reccomended

The hotel has a great location and excellent views. Lobby and common areas are nice, well maintained. ATM machine accepts only VISA. The swimming pool and courtyard are great. The rooms are spacious. Furniture is outdated and worn out. Bathrooms are nice. Staff is very curteous and professional. Breafast spread is modest. I was unable to get internet connection on...

This is a direct critic to Mr. Hermann Z., Group and Tour Coordinator, in charge of bookings. The rest of the hotel staff are extremely nice and polite, but he made made us leave the hotel!! One of the few five-star hotels in the capital. Staff are courteous & well trained. I wanted to stay in the most secured place in Tana for my wife's very first night in Africa in her life, and it was achieved. We stayed in a junior suite for two nights. The Carlton Antananarivo is badly located, far from everything; nothing can be done walking! The restaurant is not structured to receive even a normal flow of guests; it is too small.
