Hotel Coimbra is centrally located in a very quiet and safe area of Bissau. The hotel provides full board and it has a restaurant with a very good variety of meal options in the ground floor. Airport shuttles and other transportation can be arranged. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful in sorting out other services needed (i.e. cash exchange)

The hotel is safe and well located. Staff is good. The transfer to/from hotel always work and you have a cold bottle of mineral water waiting for you in the fridge. The wifi barely works in peak hours but electricity is stable. When it comes down, the generator is immediately turned on. The shower works and the water is clean... More

I generally agree with the previous reviews. I would like to add that the historic building where the hotel is located is quite charming and quaint. The suites are modern and spacious (I would highly recommend them over regular rooms). The buffet style restaurant is one of the best eating destinations in town. It is very popular with locals as... I would say its like a guest house not a hotel, Rooms are old but every thing was working. Breakfast is dinner was okay. There is small restaurant in front of this hotel which is bit expensive but food was fresh and okay. I saw some other good looking hotels in town but i observed that most of the outsiders... More

I picked Coimbra Hotel because of its good rating and central location. Not knowing much about Bissau going in, I'm glad I made the right choice. Coimbra is a small oasis in the center of a very basic city. Here's what made it stand out for me: Location: Right next to the cathedral and near the main sights for tourists... More

Not that Bissau offers much choice in hotels of higher standard... this one is ok, safe but definitely not good value for money! On the plus side: rooms are quite big, are cleaned every day, bathroom spacy, water in shower excellent. The fridge in the room was very noisy, so I turned it off but then water runs out over... Great all you can eat - including wine. Popular with ex-pats and groups. Great selection of main courses and pud's and you really can eat whatever you like. we only had the option of red wine for free, but it was really good, and kept coming! There is a fun mask wall as well. a mix of super cool modern... More

If I knew about this hotel before I came to Bissau (first trip, had to rely on other people's feedback), I would have gone there from day one. It's the best value in town (I visited all the decent hotels there were, so believe you me when I say this). Well kept, very clean, right in the centre of the... More

I have been around Africa, staying in crappy hotels paying 3 Euros per night (in the most remote areas, without electricity or water). Well, this hotel is consider the best of Bissau. The single rooms are old, dirty, the smell of the restaurant´s chammine enters in the suites rooms upstairs, the staff is not correct with you (90%), breakfast low... More

This old-school Portuguese hotel is safe, clean, comfortable. Some rooms are larger than others but the bathrooms are all modern and clean. Some rooms face opposite an outdoor bar under trees across the street, where music goes on until 4 am. The othe rooms have less charm and face the interior courtyard. The breakfast buffet is great, definitely better than... More
