I visit Addis roughly two times a year for work and almost always stay at Arequ. The people are amazing, the rooms are cozy and clean, it is close to the airport. I can't say enough positive things about this little haven.

I only stayed for one night at Arequ but wish I could have stayed longer. The staff were very welcoming and the rooms and communal areas were spacious and well decorated. I was in fact the only person staying at the guest house on the night, yet was still cooked a lovely breakfast with around 8 dishes! To round off... More

I am from the U.S. so quality and style is a must. This place took the cake...! When I say that, I really mean it. I went there to marry my fiancee of 4 plus years. Although we had major obstacles because of government policies which prevented our marriage at the time, this guest house made us forget what troubles... More

This guest house is a gem and a must stay in Addis Ababa! We considered larger hotels but ultimately settled on Arequ because of the glowing reviews on trip advisor. It's the perfect mixture of boutique hotel and bed and breakfast. First, you get 5-star service because Almaz and her staff treat you like family. She even drove us to... More

Pleasant, attractive guest house. Almaz is gracious, friendly, and welcoming and the staff are helpful. Nice breakfast every morning. Our room was on the ninth floor, so maybe not a great choice if you have trouble with stairs. Thank you for a delightful stay!

My group and I spend several days here before leaving for the South of Ethiopia. This guest house provided everything we needed, the hospitality was amazing and we were all very happy to stay at the Arequ Guest House. We will definitely return this year once we get back to Ethiopia. Thank you.

This is a very sweet guest house with lovely family furnishings. The ability to see personal pictures and fine artwork provides for a wonderful introduction to Ethiopia. The breakfast was tasty and the young woman who served us was charming. We would return and it is especially good if you want to be close to the airport.

We were in Ethiopia on a tour that included accommodation and so I am unable to comment on the value for money for this hotel. The price was based on three levels of accommodation, we chose the middle option as we wanted to avoid the high cost, high star rating tourist hotel. Our main requirements were a clean room, our... Stopped here twice on our Northern circuit of Ethiopia. Nice breakfast and coffee! Friendly owners. Rooms are large and airy with pleasant safari style decor. TIP: Pay attention how to drive there on your airport pick up, so later you can help taxi driver to find their way back to your lodgings :D Lots of navigating is done by landmarks... More
