A lovely place to stay, right in the heart of Praia. I found it difficult to find an affordable place to stay in Praia's central region of Plato, the major guidebooks didn't list much by way of budget hotels there. I was very glad to have found the Residencial Nazare after a bit of research on TripAdvisor. The rooms are indeed quite miniature, but they are packed with everything the traveller needs - air-conditioning, private bathroom, storage space, chair, foldable table, fridge, and of course, a comfortable bed. I was fortunate enough on my first stay there to have the room right at the top, with an additional sitting room and a wonderful view over the breakfast terrace towards the ocean beyond. Upon my return after a couple of weeks around Cape Verde, I got a smaller room lower down the building, but this was also just as well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty, and the staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming. It also has the perfect location, being located a 5-minute walk from the main squares and pedestrian street of Praia, but just far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at all times. A very good stay overall.…
Staff are very friendly. The room was a litle poor and very small, but clean. They allow me to saty one night with my dog, so for me was priceless. This residencial is in a zone very good, near Plateau.
the hotel is located right in the centre of the city, close to all buildings in the capital., restaurants and bars in the area of Plateau. Room No. 5 is very small, but has everything you need. BAD: The too thin and uncomfortable mattress and staff not too friendly, OK: has a correct price for Praia. Price single room: 3420 Escudos, ( 32 euros).
We were lucky enough to be put in the very topmost bedroom ABOVE the breakfast terrace, which was spacious and very quiet. It had a fantastic view across the harbour area and t the port. Security to the building is great and the staff are very helpful and good at their jobs. Breakfast was a standard continental style one and provided a filling start to our days on Santiago. The only negative point was that there was no hot water for our shower at all during our stay, which for me was very frustrating. My partner was ok with cold showers. If you are of restricted mobility, the building does not have a lift but only stairs. This was fine for us as we are a fit young couple, but would be difficult for anyone with disabilities.
Stayed here 1 + 1 night and my stay was OK. Room were lacking totally lacking charm, windowless, cramped and worn. Nevertheless the hotel was safe, reasonably clean and breakfast was ok. Location was very good, staff friendly. No Wi-Fi at the time of my stay.
Overall I enjoyed my 3-night stay at RN. Nilson on the front desk was friendly and helpful. My single room was quiet, the AC worked well. Some areas for improvement But the AC unit in my room #7 dripped water onto the head of the bed, using the shower generally resulted in a puddle on the bathroom floor, the bed mattress comfort was below average, and the breakfast was inconsistent, some mornings we had bananas and ham, some mornings not, and it was staffed by silent, glum, vigilant attendants.
Mostly rooms without windows, bugs in the bed, and a room size so small that you only can travel with hand-luggage. The positive thing is the location, but it´s not enough to stay here. There are so many better places to stay at in the city center (plateau). There are 2-3 doublerooms with window in the hotel.
Maybe I was unlucky on choosing my room but it seemed very, very small to me, with limited space around my bed to put my feet. No windows, some smell... I stayed only one night so it was OK, but I wouldn't say it is a comfortable place. Staff is welcoming and competent, and the place is quiet.
I stayed at Res. Nazaré with my eight years old daughter, and it was for me the perfect location in Praia. Price/performance really good. Quiet street in the center, very friendly and helpful personal, nice clean rooms - and the fine terrace. If I come again to Praia, I know where I will feel at home.
I stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, Fatinha and the rest of the staff are welcoming, friendly and look after their business in a professional manner. This hotel is clean and well maintained and offers good value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending it.
