Clean, modern and well-equipped.
Great location (on the main walking street).
Nice terrace for breakfast.
It can be a bit noisy if your window (or balcony) opens towards the street.
Parking somewhere in the nearby streets should be prepaid at one of the machines.

Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
Room is air-conditionined and clean and well kept. Unfortunately no windows to the outside.
Location is perfect on the pedestrian street with everything within easy reach as well as transport to other parts of the island a short walk away.

In the middle of the plateau of Praia, nice old pousada. A small roof terras for breakfast. Old English crockery and old pics of Praia. Helpfull people that arranged a driver for us and let us store our bags for the day. Flights to lisboa always leave in the middle of the night.

long wait for signing in. room 202 2x3.5 m, no real windows (small inner court with smells). one 1 3W bulb not LED for the entire room. very dark, impossible to read. no bulb in second lamp. inconfortable bed. only boiling water for shower, not possible to shower. upon complaining they made jokes between themselves about myself. after 36 hours somebody finally came (after 3 complaints) and realized that not only there was only boiling water but that also the sink was clogged. ultraslow lift. breakfast without coffee, cheese etc at 7 am. some coffee arrived at 7.30 when i had to leave.

It really sounded good to stay in a 'King Suite with Balcony' in a Boutique Hotel in Praia's Platô, the city's most interesting part. The so-called 'Suite' though was just a room a bit bigger than the other rooms in this hotel and it had two small balconies overlooking the 'Rua Pedonal'. No car traffic, but otherwise the noisiest place imaginable.

The first night we managed to sleep with earplugs and the windows closed, but then we saw that they were putting up a music-stand just underneath our balcony for the next evening. Even while they were working on it, music was going on and we knew that it would be completely impossible the stay in this room any longer, so we asked for a more quiet room.

All other rooms here are standard rooms, very dark even in daytime, since they face a narrow hallway. The set-up is very basic and simple, with not the slightest decoration, with no writing-desk or reading lamps besides the bed. We got the room furthest back, next to the breakfast buffet with the door being one meter away from the first table. Naturally no sleeping out here either with the kitchen staff being busy as of early morning, a few hours after the street music stopped, which one could hear even back here.

The worst though was the bathroom, which started to smell badly of sewage in the middle of the night. And in the morning there was only piping hot water from the shower or the washbasin, no cold water at all.

The tiny breakfast buffet is very limited and plates get refilled only, when one asks. There is butter on the table, but no kives were given - on either day. When I asked for one, they brought me a big one for cutting meat. Staff has been the unfriendliest of all hotels we stayed in Cape Verde. No 'Bom dia' from the young ladies, just sour faces and the 'King Suite' after the first night hadn't been cleaned until late afternoon, although I had put up the sign 'Please make up my room'.

All in all, the stay here has been one of the worst of all I can remember in many, many years of private and professional travelling on all continents.

They stole our gear!

We left our bags at the luggage room to go on a tour, when we came back our camera was gone!

The receptionist pretended she didn't know what happened but after a lot of pressure we had access to the footage from the security cameras. In there we could see that she let in a third person and he was the one who took our stuff.

The managers didn't want to show up to deal with the situation, they did only after a lot of discussions with the receptionist. When they finally came they assured us they would take absolute responsibility for the situation and cover the cost of the stolen goods. They lied. This was in December and since then we've been trying to get them to cover the damages and they're not even answering the messages.

Very bad experience, unacceptable security and negligence on managing an incident. We had such a a good time en cape verde and this experience left a terrible impression, please do yourself a favor and stay away of this place there are so many other nice hotels in Praia.

If you don´t mind the distance to Quebra Canela beach (a 30 minute walk or go by taxi or local bus) and appreciate the closeness to Sucupira (market and aluguer terminal) and the "vibes" of the Plateau - charming Praia Maria Hotel allows you all of this.

Plus rich breakfast. Great comfortable King Size bed. Nice view of Praia from rooftop. Spacy well furnished room

Consider that:
Make shure you book a room with balkony faced to the street.
Do not be sensitiv to noise (it´s live music & singing) I loved it to sit in a comfortable chair at the balkony and listen to it.

Stayed here for one night.

The hotel itself is in a good location with a lovely bar/restaurant opposite. The main reception is on the first floor and is a nice open space with sofas and excellent decor. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. However the room didnt have a window. Not a massive issue but it was a bit dingy and we wouldnt have stayed another night in it. Air conditioning was provided though and the wifi was good.

The breakfast is tasty - a buffet style help yourself with the usual bread, cheese, jams, fruit and plenty of coffee, out on the terrace overlooking the town. This gives a nice view and relaxed feeling.

We spent one night here. The rooms were very basic but fine. Very clean! The natural light wasn't really needed in the room. Yeah, it was a little loud sometimes but it didn't really bother us. The location was perfect. Also the breakfast was good and served on the roof terrace. The staff was really helpful. The wifi didn't really work.
