This hotel was supposed to be No 1 in Africa. It is still No 1 in Harare. But what does it mean? Nothing at all. You've got a restaurant on the first floor, if you are lucky you get a descent meal, the bar upstairs and downstairs are open and nice. But teatime coffee or else we used to have?...

Whilst understandably expensive ( charging everything in USD ) this is a very good hotel with a good location in the city. Wifi works well , rooms are spacious and the hotel area is clean and tidy with 2 nice restaurants and a decent cocktail bar. Staff try very hard to please and there is a decent work ethic here...

when this was one of the best 5 hotels in Africa and certainly the best I had ever stayed in. It was particularly memorable for the quality of the customer service which was outstanding. The food was also excellent. It is a pleasure to read that while the acute problems of the country have led to a decline in maintenance,...

The Miekels still has that classic appeal. The lady is aging and in some places it really shows! The downstairs bar is a case in point. However I must say my room in the un-refurbished side (south wing) was very pleasant all things considered. Classic furniture in overall good condition and lovely crisp linen. The staff remain friendly and attentive,...

Thank you for giving us feedback following your recent stay at Meikles Hotel during your visit to Harare. A major refurbishment of a large part of the hotel was undertaken in the past few years, and we have plans to attend to those areas which were not refurbished under phase 1 of our plans. Had a room in South Wing. Excellent view of Harare from room. Overall, very good hotel and comfortable. The food (evening meal) and breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was outstanding - steaks brilliant served by Rbson, the waiter. The service generally is brilliant. What lets it down is the fixtures especially the bathroom are old (handle on bath coming...

Lovely hotel with a lot of history. The club lounge staff are very attentive with delivering drinks & snacks & interacting with their guests. I had a lovely meal in their a la carte restaurant while being serenaded by the great piano player. I knew every song he played. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds & all the mod cons....

Stayed in the South Wing on the 5th floor. Check in was really quick and efficient with very good staff. The hotel provides secured private parking. The room was well appointed with a mini bar and satellite TV. Rather dissapointed that whilst there was air conditioning, one cannot adjust it. Guests have to call house keeping and request that they...

I should start off by saying that I did not stay here, instead staying with a friend in the suburbs. However, as any savvy traveler knows, if you cannot find an answer in a foreign city, it's a sure bet the concierge or staff at a premium hotel will be able to assist. So after traipsing the suburb I was...

I stayed at the Meikles for ten nights. The renovated rooms were nice, but there were constant issues with internet and a stunning unwillingness to repair the broken router causing the issues, and the food was by far the worst I've had in Zimbabwe. Nonetheless, the icing on the cake was the email-- over four months later-- from management claiming...
