#116 of 172 Speciality lodging in Serengeti National Park
Seronera Wildlife Lodge is artfully constructed round a rocky outcrop from glass and wood elements, perfectly blending into its surrounding; next to the lodge, several waterholes attract day and night the most amazing animals, providing a unique opportunity for a close encounter with the so called Big Five. The Lodge is only 5 minutes far from the departing point of the hot - air balloon safaris, which offer a thrilling birds-eye wildlife perspective of the vast plains of the Serengeti.

Came here for my 30th birthday. Location was ok. Didn’t want to camp out in the wild so I chose somewhere with a bed and four walls (I know I know!). The booking turned sour when they claimed they did not see my reservation or money paid even though I did it on hotels.com AND PROVIDED A RECEIPT. They literally called the safari driver I had mid safari in the serengeti asking to speak to me several times. Driver had to pull over and waste everyones precious time because the incompetent owners did not know how to pull up emails on their end. The next day they continued to harass me. To the extent that my safari group of 6 was detoured to some business complex in the middle of Arusha where some female “manager” wanted to review my booking details. Can you imagine being in a foreign country and having to go to some hectic part of town into some office??? It felt like something out of a movie where if I didn’t pay AGAIN I would be held captive and couldn’t leave Africa. Very scary and left a horrible taste in my mouth. After literally raising my voice and getting mildly loud with the lady telling her I would not allow her or the company to extort me she finally let me go. I was thankful I had a flight out the next morning because who knows what they would have attempted. Long story short DO NOT BOOK HERE. The middle eastern manager is also a con artist and is the one who instructed them to hunt my safari driver and I down until they saw “proof of payment” even though it was sent via email THREE TIMES. Bed was hard as a rock. No hot water (no big deal but don’t claim “luxury”). Food was decent but standard chicken fish fare. The night I stayed it was only 2 other people there. This place can accomodate about 100 guests. I wonder why it was empty (no I don’t). Other hotels deserve the business in these hard times but not them. I even requested a refund due to the hell I went through and they ignored my emails and requests. Guess they didn’t get those either *shrugs*

We spent 2 nights at the lodge. We had a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The buffet was good. The hotel has a viewing deck, amazing serengeti view and sunsets. The architect of the lodge is one of its kind, rocks and wood.... JUST AWESOME.

Recently stayed at Seronera Wildlife Lodge. The way it has been constructed will surely take anyone with surprise ! This one has been built keeping the huge boulders ( locally known as 'Kopjes'). So you get a feel of living into the wilderness. Rooms are little small and so are the wash rooms. Rest of the property is huge. We could see a few animals from our room - Girafffe, Impala, Hyraxes, Vervet monkeys etc. Food is good, served in buffet system. Though there was less choice for some of our vegetarian group members, the chef had separately prepared the veg meals for them as requested. Restaurant is located on the second floor. But there is no continuous ramp to the restaurant. The property also has a swimming pool overlooking the vast grassland.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have better views than those on the ground floor.

Had a terrible experience at this lodge.Well made structure so when you the enter the property it is like wow. But when u enter the room it is claustrophobic due to ill ventilation. If you ask for a table fan at extra cost the big answer is NO AVAILABILITY. We had reached back well in time for buffet lunch but items were over and we were given a feel that we will be served specially made chicken. The fact was some left over chicken pieces were fried undercooked and served in some two spoons of curry. I am posting a photo of lunch served to us. it doesn't end here, night when you lift the bed cover the sheet underneath is fully covered with mosquitoes. I am.posting the picture of the same. Most of the buffet items are uncovered with flies sitting on food now and then. It's a shame to have a beautifully located 4 star property with such services.

Really small rooms. Toilets also very small. Restaurant is two floors climb up. Diffcult for elders. Food is good. Main issue is power shuts off by 11pm upto 5am. No torches also in the rooms. Much better options available in other hotels around Serengeti.
