The room is a very large suite, completely separated to others, with lots of amenities. The food was excellent: ask for a breakfast picnic because it completes the experience. Managers Esmeralde and Van made us feel at home, and the main house and the rock are the loveliest places to spend the time around. But it all comes to one...

The facilities were very nice and the food was good. On safari, the guide let his Land Rover run out of gas which should never happen. We had to wait on people from the camp to come with gas cans. One other time, the vehicle broke down. Luckily, we were close to the camp and help came right away. To...

Dear Everett, Firstly, let us apologise for the vehicle issues you experienced while staying at Sanctuary Kusini, but thank you for your positive remarks on our food, facilities and location. It is very unfortunate that the heavy rains had caused lots of mud on the roads, leading to your vehicle to get stuck several times and require extra fuel or...

Es and Van, the young couple that manage this camp have a real customer service approach and their staff reflects their hard work to make this a great place to stay in the serengeti. From here we observed the great migration and were overwhelmed with the vistas and experiences. We were off road with only the horizon to stop our...

REVISED Our bush plane lands at the Serengeti South airstrip. It's hot! We get off the plane. Not 20 feet away is a Sanctuary jeep with Van and Samson welcomed us with smiling faces, friendly greetings and cool facecloths. What a start to an amazing two days on the Serengeti! We took a morning drive with Emmanuel ("Ema"), who gave...

Kusini was the third Sanctuary camp that we visited during our three week tour of Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda. And like the other two camps, this camp has a flavor all its own...an amazing one! And just like the other two camps, perfection is at every turn! To begin, the property is beautifully located, taking in and making use of...

Arrival: Not letting that cat out of the bag but it is special Tents: Luxury Glamping. Lots of room and right in the forefront of the wild life. We had a kill right beside us and it was close to the highlight of our trip. Sleep quality depends on the wildlife. You snooze you might lose. Food: Breakfast varied but...

Sanctuary Kusini permanent tented bush resort in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, is simply amazing, certainly one to cross off the bucket list. Our initial host, Moses was extremely helpful and polite. Nothing for him or his staff was her too much trouble. This was equally true of Van and Esmeralda when they took over as camp managers. Our guide...

We spent two wonderful, most memorable days just around Kusini Camp off road Safari hunting finding 3 Cheetahs and a magnificent big large male Leopard! Wildlife was abundant the Thompson and Grant Gazelles, Giraffes, Hyenas, Wild Ostriches, etc. The only downside was an inconsistent, hard to connect WiFi connection that had a Firewall block. They had a request for new...

Kusini is absolutely stunning, the camp, the staff, the food and the area! Kusini is in a remote part of the Serengeti, so it’s likely you won’t see another vehicle whilst here! Let me start with the rooms, beautifully appointed and so comfortable. You have everything you need. Nice big comfy bed, double sinked bathroom, hot water all day and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Part of Sanctuary Kusini's charm is its remote and private location within the park, offering exceptional and essentially private game viewing. Built around a spectacular rocky outcrop, or kopje, the camp's communal areas include a dining area, lounge and library, as well as a campfire. The views from the kopje are simply sensational - the perfect spot for sundowners and stargazing. The library is stocked with reference books to read up on the day's discoveries, and of course, our experienced guides are always on hand to fill in about local knowledge where books cannot. Like all Sanctuary properties, Sanctuary Kusini is designed to have minimal environmental impact, in fact the camp can be packed up and removed without leaving a trace. The open-plan ensuite twelve tents at Sanctuary Kusini are shaded from the sun by acacia trees and all are positioned carefully with thought out views of the surrounding plains and extremely spacious at 48 square metres. Each tent has its own personal attendant to look after guests during their stay and feature mosquito netting, hairdryers and in-room safe. A large private wooden veranda with comfortable furnishings extends in front of each tent, with many having views of the plains below where zebra, buffalo and lion are a common sight year-round, the ideal spot to relax for a sundowner after a hot restorative shower. ... more   less
