We stayed at Lamai for four nights during our 'Sisters on Safari' trip in September 2016. The entire experience couldn't have been better. Wonderful 'rooms' (more villa's actually) with lots of privacy, very comfortable beds (don't be surprised to find a hot water bottle when you return from dinner), a huge bathroom and a veranda with views over the Serengeti...

From the moment we touched down we knew we were in a special place! The journey to the camp set the scene and on arrival we were greeted by the very warm and friendly staff. Our room had a fabulous view and we slept wonderfully under the mosquito nets whilst listening to the wonderful Serengeti noises - the best nights...

Located on a small hillside with spectacular views over the Serengeti, Lamai is miles from anywhere else. All the rooms have great views, ours was the way up the hill but worth the climb every time and always accompanied after dark by a Masai guard who was helpful and friendly. The room had a big double bed with mosquito net,...

This was our fifth and last camp, and the highlight of the trip. The abundance of wildlife is unparalleled, and our guide was superb. The food and service in camp was equally memorable. This is a camp not to be missed!

Lamai Serengeti was our first stop on our Tanzania safari. We could not have asked for a better experience. We are a family of 5 (including 3 teenagers) and we all agreed that this place is a must for anyone traveling in Tanzania. The Lamai Serengeti is the perfect place to stay - Helen and Clyde are incredibly gracious hosts. From our gorgeous and comfortable room we had a beautiful view and one night were woken up by a herd of elephants loudly eating right outside our door! Each day we went out with our knowledgeable guide Mussa and traversed through the most...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you were to visit only one place in the Serengeti, it should be here. This is no idle boast; the iconic Kogakuria kopje in northern Serengeti. A few years ago the Tanzanian government chose a handful of responsible companies to build small permanent lodges in this remote sector of the Serengeti. Nomad Tanzania was offered the prime site and Lamai Serengeti now sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Beautifully designed open-fronted rooms, a spacious lounge and clear pool provide an ideal place to escape to for some relaxation in between your wildlife adventures, for both families, groups and couples. The area boasts year-round fantastic game viewing, including the Big 5, and between July and November, the wildebeest migration moves through, crossing the Mara River in dramatic fashion just 20mins from the lodge. ... more   less
