Olakira camp is beautifully situated, overlooking the Mara River, and is beyond comfortable. The staff is expertly trained, and their enthusiasm and skill are especially on display during mealtimes. It's hard to beat waking up each morning to a coffee delivery and watching the sun rise over the Mara River. The evening campfires are another fantastic part of the camp,...

This mobile camp is a gem. The staff is outstanding, both in the camp and kitchen and the guides who are tremendously knowledgeable and go out of their way to find the animals you want to see. Plentiful food and drink.

I suspect you will have read all the companies internet information and reviews and wondered if the camp is as good as others say. Well my wife and I spent three nights here in early September 2016 and I can say the place lives up to all the praise it gets. A high standard of accommodation matched by super food...

Just back from a brilliant safari. Spent three nights at Olakira, a very special place very close to the Mara river, we saw our second river crossing from the comfort of the dining tent at our very first lunch there! (saw one crossing en route from the airport!) The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful time,...

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at Olakira Camp. I like small camps like this for the best bush experience. The accommodation and food were of high standard, the staff were helpful and knowledgeable and the game viewing excellent. I would recommend this camp.

This is a 'mobile' tented camp in the northern Serengeti. Headed up by Kenneth, staff of Vicent, Pascal, Amos and guides, Nathan and Olee, provided the best and most interesting service we had throughout our safari. Food was average to good. Wines good. But most important, excellent coffee, wake up, escort from tent to breakfast and dinner, allowed to wash...

This Asilia Africa Serengeti property moves with the season. We visited in September which means the camp has relocated to its northern site. The property consists of 10 large tents each with beds, sink, toilet and shower stalls. Shower water came from buckets the n the back of each tent; when we wanted a shower, we told them and within...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I had no complaints, just praise. The staff was attentive and very nice. The food was interesting and very good. I loved the picnic lunch on the last day. I found the chicken to be excellent.

A wonderful camp experience with wonderful staff seeing to our every need. In the midst of the best game park to see every animal on your safari wish list. Pointer: if you have a picky eater, make specific food requests ahead.

We have seen all of the Big Five...our Guide Nathan was excellent. The Rest of the Olakira- Crew made our stay very enjoyable. John always prepared very tasty food. The Askaris took good care of us in the dark. The fireplace were a lot of fun.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Immerse yourself in the Great Migration at Olakira Migration Camp. You will feel the earth vibrate during brave winter crossings of the mighty rivers in the north, or be moved beyond measure by the mass summer calving on the south's grassy plains. Olakira follows the massive herds of wildebeest to two spectacular locations in the north and south of the Serengeti National Park. Home from December to March is the southern Serengeti, where herds of wildebeest calve simultaneously and the plains throng with new life. As the dry days of winter arrive, Olakira relocates north to the confluence of the Mara and Bolongonja rivers for spectacular game viewing at the Mara River itself and around the Lamai Wedge. ... more   less
