Small hotel but perfect for an overnight stay after arriving in Dar Es Salaam from Australia. Large well equipped rooms with sea views, good pool and very helpful staff. Outstanding dinner. The only negative was the very long time (10 minutes +0 that it took for the only luke warm water to make it to the shower. Will definitely stay...

We were in Dar es Salaam for a day. Our flight from our safari came in at 10 in the morning and our flight out to Amsterdam was at midnight. What could we do for a day? Oyster Bay was the perfect answer. We were picked up at the airport and had a tour of the city as we wound...

We stayed at the Oyster Bay at the end of our stay in Tanzania. It was a wonderful hotel. We were able to enjoy wonderful meals at whatever time suited us. We could relax in the lovely gardens by the pool. A car and driver picked us up at the airport and took us back for our return flight home...

Fantastic room overlooking the sea, beautiful garden and pool and the kindest chef, Demeter who indulged and took great care of us. We arrived at Oyster Bay and unfortunately, l was quite unwell ( later found to be a kidney infection) but was well looked after by the big hearted Demeter who took it upon herself to find appropriate medication...

When we told we needed a night in Dar es Salaam we were a little hesitant, after all holidays in Tanzania are surely about Safari and Beaches and we were not really keen to spend a night in a busy city. The Oyster Bay however made this well worthwhile and we would definitely return to Dar just to spend a...

We had four day rooms for eight. Quite nice. We had invited friends and had buffet dinner for 18 at the hotel. The quality and selection of food was disappointing, and to charge USD 75 per person, regardless of age, was outrageous considering that we had two children under 4 and two more under ten. Their answer when we questioned...

We agree 100% with this comment – bad enforcement certainly and contrary to everything we have tried to create at The Oyster Bay and our ‘staying with friends’ ethos. We unreservedly offer our apologies to Mr Fazli D and request that he contacts us on reservations@theoysterbayhotel.com so that we can arrange to make amends for our shortcomings. The Directors.

Looking at the photos online of this hotel, one gets the idea that it is luxurious. Those photos must have been taken when they built the place 8 years ago because now the furniture is threadbare in places and there is a horrible smell of mildew and damp in the lounge / dining area on the ground floor. The bedrooms...

We are sorry that we have not been able to meet the expectations of this guest but as we are unable to clearly identify their identity and the date that they stayed with us we would request that they contact us on reservations@theoysterbayhotel.com so that we can address their concerns. Since opening, the hotel has undergone selective refurbishment, trying wherever...

Exceptional property. Exceptional rooms. Exceptional service. Stayed here for one night after our safari in the Serengeti and before heading to the Seychelles. It was absolutely perfect. Rooms are divine. You feel as if you're staying as a treasured guest in a large home. Only 8 rooms, of which it was just us and 2 others during our stay. The...

Oyster Bay Hotel was selected as the introduction and finale to our Safari experience in Tanzania. A perfect choice! Friday night arrival at Dar-Es-Salaam airport meant a one hour road transfer to the hotel. That was an eye-opener in so many ways! The chaotic traffic, the motor bikes that weaved in and out of the vehicles in all directions, the...
