My friend and I spent 6 nights at Le Coq Berbere, and truly felt at home. From our arrival, we were greeted and accompanied to the riad (this was very fortunate as the walk through the alleyways would have been quite daunting initially and especially late at night). The rooms were clean, but not too fancy. The riad is in...

This is a quaint riad in the Medina. You are in the middle of everything in no time. The rooms were well equipped and very clean, the breakfast was excellent, this goes espescially for the vegan version for my daughter. We enjoyed the views on the roof top terrace. The people there were really nice and gave us excellent recommendations...

We were due to stay at the riad at the end of our stay, after we had completed a three day tour. Unfortunately for us, the tour was postponed by a day (due to heavy snowfall in the High Atlas mountain pass!), and we needed to change our bookings accordingly. Mohammed and Bashir couldn't have been more helpful; they liaised...

My friend and I spent 4 nights in Le Coq Berbere, and our time there was amazing. The room was very comfortable, and the Riad very beautiful, specially the terrace, and quite peaceful despite of being in the middle of the boisterous Medina. All the Riad's staff were nice, from Baschir to Jamina, and of course Abdltife, whit whom we...

My husband and I had never been to Morocco before and when he surprised me with this gift of flying to Morocco, were looking for a unique cultural experience in the heart of Marrakech. While reviewing several Riads we decided on Le Coq Fou and from the moment we arrived we were never disappointed. Not only is the Riad very...

Le Coq Berbere is amazing value for money, and well located just enough away from the souk and square to get a bit of piece and quiet. From the beautiful breakfast, to amazingly helpful staff (happily printed out airline tickets, and gave us a whole host of places to visit) to the beautifully fitted out rooms, Le Coq Berbere cannot...

From Riad Laarouss which is pretty well know, the Riad is easy to find. The area is full of little eateries and some top rated cafés. There are at least three museums nearby. The location is great. The staff of the Riad is simply fantastic ! Bechir, Abdulatif, Jamila and the others. Pure kindness and so respecting of your space....

Everything about this place is lovely, a warm environment in which we instantly felt welcome. Both breakfast and dinner were amazing and relaxing on the rooftop in the sunshine is exactly what you need after a busy day in Marrakech. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, particular thanks to Abdltife for making our stay so wonderful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the beginning there were two friends, Barbara and Elizabeth, and the charm of the Red Town. In an afternoon, walking in a quiet part of the Medina, called Riad Laarouss, close to Ben Youssef Mosque, they saw an old woman with a tattoo on her chin, standing in the street door. The woman was making great gestures to invite them into her house, which seemed very poor. In a corner of the courtyard, there were gathered together a lot of furniture and fittings, as waiting for moving. In fact the old woman said to the girls that the house has become too small for her family and she would like they be the new owners. According to the traditional Moroccan hospitality, the old woman offered them mint tea and cakes. She also introduced to them the last born in the family, Idris, a few-months baby, and Mustafà, a gentle and wise man who was living like a Hermit in his ... more   less
