Down several narrow lanes in the old part of Marrakesh lies Riad Zitoun. Like most riads, the plain outside door leads to an open central courtyard with a fountain and lost of zelig tile work. Peaceful and relaxing. The mint tea is poured before the formalities of registering. The two house tortoises show off their colourful shells. Several members of... More

We have just spend a week at this Riad. Everything was just perfect. The welcome when we arrived, when the Owner Ahmed informed us about Marrakech and recommended us excursions, restaurants etc. The service was wonderful during the whole stay. The breakfast was great and with flexibility as there exist no breakfast times. When we came back from our day... More

The riad is really cosy and the owner is polite. It is located very close to the main square. We really liked staying there and had a great evening on a roof terrace. However it is quite difficult to find it if you haven't been there before.

Very cheap and close to the main square (once you find it!) - its basic as you would expect for the price but the beds were comfortable. Sinks in bathroom didnt turn off, toilets were barely big enough to sit and WiFi didnt work, but the place was clean and nice and the staff were friendly. Would recommend if you... More

Unfortunately, on our way to 'Zitoune', of which I should say, we didn't have very high expectations, we were mistakenly taken to Riad Siwan (See my other review). I say "Unfortunately" because Siwan is soooo gorgeous it does rather tend to make others seem incredibly dull and shabby by comparison. Zitoune falls into this category. The Riad is huge and... Firstly I didn't stay here, but did pop in for a drink on my way back from shopping in the souks. Very welcoming atmosphere, seriously cold beer. Promised to call back for dinner but alas we didn't return to the Riad next door to Edwina's place. Certainly would recommend the hospitality.

I stayed at this hostel for several nights and only thing that let it down were the showers and toilets the toilets were pretty cramped and when doors closed they were against your knees I am not a big guy so could imagine this being pretty uncomfortable for anybody larger! also the showers are shared and do not have anywhere... Riad Zitoune is a lovely and unusual building with long, narrow rooms full of lots of natural light. The beds are also unusual -- long, narrow cushions on the floor -- but I slept fine on it. The breakfast is simple and tasty, but we could never quite figure out what was free and what we had to pay for.... More

this hostel has most of the basics: comfortable bed, hot showers in the morning, breakfast if you'd like, wi-fi, clean facilities throughout. There is no communal kitchen, and the upstairs terrace is still in the works. But the proprietor is a very honest, kind, and friendly lady, and was helpful in offering advice to a clueless solo traveller. It is... More
