Early November, my wife and I, visited Fez. A friend recommended this riad, and since we were going to stay only three days, we decided on Numero9 because of its very central location in the Medina. Little did we know that we were going to have an experience of a lifetime. Numero 9 is a story book place to stay....

We returned to RIAD NUMERO 9, because we loved it first time. And, we were not sorry. It was as amazing as we remembered it, and more. We loved the location, the riad itself, lovely Ms. Atika, who made sure that we are comfortable. We felt home. In this elegant, beautifully appointed place, with a great attention to detail, one...

We stayed at Riad Numero 9 to celebrate our five year anniversary seeking pampering, privacy and relaxation, Riad 9 had all of that and much more. The owner, Stephen Di Renza and staff were warm, welcoming and attentive to our every need we immediately felt like family. Riad 9 was by far above and beyond our expectations. Every room was...

I heard about this riad from a friend who stayed here two years ago. She couldnt stop gushing about the cool decor and great experience she had here so my expectations were high. Thankfully it was all I hoped it would be and more. Being an interior designer, I loved discovering all the cool and eclectic accessories and furnishings used...

The challenge of staying in a gorgeous hotel is the difficulty of leaving your room or in this case your home away from home. Nowhere is this more pronounced than in the overwhelmingly hectic medina of Fez and the quiet, but sumptuous embrace behind the walls of Riad no.9 in the very heart of the old town. There are only...

We heard about RIAD NUMERO 9 from a friend who stayed there last year. She loved it and insisted that, when in Fas, we stay there. We did, and what a stay it was! We fell in love with the place. It is a small riad, with three beautifully furnished and elegant rooms. The smallest detail in this riad was...

This is a small super deluxe hotel with only 5 rooms and a discrete entrance in the medina of Fes. The location is most convenient for travelers. The lobby of the hotel is the patio and home for fish and a spoiled cat. Off to the side is a small breakfast room with a few tables for 2. This is...

I have never before contributed to TripAdvisor but feel compelled to this after a most cosseted four days in this exquisitely restored riad - also to balance some of the remarks posted by our fellow travellers, and my personal guests, pete-fran, in the previous review. Firstly, there ARE windows to ALL the bedrooms in Riad 9. In the lower two,...

Those who've used riads rather than Western style hotels in Morocco will know the beauties of these establishments. The large, beautiful tiled central lobbies rising up to the heights, the tranquil roof terraces, the decorative pools, and the coolness. Those who don't need to understand the limitations, which Riad 9 exemplifies; the very modest standard of plumbing, the pools of...

Riad Numero 9 set the tone of our trip in Morocco. The house was beautiful and clean, more intimate/ authentic than staying at a hotel. Our favorite part was the roof top as it gave a panoramic view of the whole city. Stephen was very responsive and left no questions unanswered! He is the best alongside with Attika and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Riad n°9 is an 18th century bourgeois residence that has been reincarnated as a boutigue bed and breakfast. The decisive factor in purchasing the property was the roof terrace which has sweeping views over the medina. Riad n°9 was originally purchased as a vacation home in 1999 and underwent a 3-year restoration process. We uncovered all the original 18th century mosaics, carved wood and plaster and hand-painted wood. In 2007, we opened to the public and changed nothing believing guests would appreciate the "personal" touches throughout. Our philosophy is to offer guests the possibility of appropriating the space for themselves and experiencing what an authentic medina home feels like. ... more   less
