Thank goodness that this wonderful old house hasn't been tarted up too much for the tourists. Staying here you can still imagine that you are the guest of the owner in a place of slightly faded grandeur. It was a joy just to sit in peace in the comfortable chairs in the courtyard and admire, standing by the grand piano,...

This is a gem of a hotel inside of the Medina of Fes. It confounds me why it isn't rated higher - It is a beautiful Dar with a very large center atrium that impresses as you enter the doors of El Ghalia. The rooms are equally beautiful especially the suites and the larger rooms. Breakfasts are very well prepared....

Not a riad but a dar - the clue is in the hotel name, but check the definition! Where does one start with the D el G? Possibly with how to find it. The taxi will drop you off at the taxi-stand near to Place R'cif but without some assistance it is difficult to identify the correct entrance into the...

One of the most satisfying stay in this riad, nicely decor, great rooms, nice friend staff, antique furniture all around, the place is well kept and maintained. The restaurant there were excellent, all food were prepared with tender care, professionally served. Price are fair and portion is big. I tried few dishes from the menu, and they are all great,...

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year and it was most definitely one of the highlights of our 2 week trip. The Ryad is stunning and everywhere you look there's a picture, mosaic, piece of antique furniture or something that makes you stop and stare. The staff are wonderful and cant do enough for...

For the first time, i got scared with medina with tiny crazy streets. Dar el ghalia provides a kind help of staff which came to us in train station. Rooms r good but little dark, no problem for old traditional palace. Ahmed always contacted official guides for us, and let us in safe. Sweety Mustafa and Alamin made us feel...

Although this riad is on the pricier end of what you can find in Fes, you definitely get what you pay for. The building is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. The view of the old town from the rooftop patio is amazing (I wish we had stayed longer just to enjoy this view more). Breakfast was good,...

The hotel is incredibly lovely - it was a former palace and has retained 100% of its charm. The room had a seating area with a fireplace and TV in addition to the bedroom. The lobby/patio is a lovely spot to relax after a busy, hot day. The tinkling fountain soothes your cares away. When you first arrive, it smells...

We stayed here in October, and it was such a lovely place. Authentic decor combined with modern comforts. Fantastic food. The bed was the most comfortable we encountered in Morocco. We enjoyed the medina location, and after a day it was quite easy to find on our own. The views from the rooftop terrace are lovely, and the entire riad...
