This hotel would need a major renovation and cleaning to turn it into something. It's a real shame for the hotel because it has so much potential. Don't go out in the evening because it is also in a not so good neighborhood.
Take the things you need out of your suitcase and quickly close your suitcase. Because it's really, really dirty. The worst hotel of our trip.
The boy at the reception is quite nice. But the men in the restaurant have walked straight out of a bad movie. Face reads: how long do I have to be here for the rest of my life and clothes that are 10 sizes too big.
Too bad that Tui had chosen this hotel.

When we arrived for dinner, they were still busy clearing the table for breakfast. Same dirty tablecloths.
Breakfast is sad. Coffee on. No toppings.

It's charming in that "it smells funny but looks clean enough" kind of way. The bartenders were clueless and had never heard of a vodka tonic. It took 900 years to find a corkscrew. But there was always fresh squeezed juice and plenty of croissants and coffee for breakfast. Our room had a lovely terrace (with an unfortunate view of drying laundry across the street and cats licking up maggots directly below....but that's just Casablanca).
It's located in what only can be described as the "light fixture district" and not walking distance (well, not when it's hot) to the old medina or mosque or any of the good restaurants. But a petit taxi ride never cost more than 20 diram (2€), so we didn't mind.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the shower had no pressure, but it too was sparkling clean.
With low expectations, I was pleased enough. For 80€ for a couple per night....there could be much worse.
But be warned, no taxi driver could ever find the hotel. The street recently changed it's name (we found out on the last day). Never leave without a map.
Edith Piaf stayed here and there are items that belonged to her, such as handbags, on display.
Staff rude, made me feel like an inconvenience. Shower did not work, not even cold. Bed horrible. Room dirty.
Just book somewhere else. This is a place you go to commit suicide.
Don't say I didn't warn you!
First of all, this is in Morocco, where things get built, but ongoing maintenance seems to be a luxury item. People are plentiful, cheerful and friendly, but maintenance money is scarce.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, despite the bedding not really fitting the bed, the TV not working, and the fridge (we would never see another in a Moroccan hotel room) wasn't very cold.
The shower was good but the water was tepid - maybe it's hot at night (more a French thing) - but we were OK with warmish.
Great location, charming lobby, sitting areas and outdoor patio for relaxing.
Free wifi worked well in the downstairs areas, no coverage upstairs.
Delicious breakfast was typically Moroccan, ample and filling.
Just remember you're in a developing country, where people are poor, devout Muslims who try hard and succeed at being extremely obliging, and you'll enjoy your stay.
The first floor rooms are being renovated to a much higher standard, but don't hold your breath - I'd guess they won't be done until 2018.
Another weird quirk is the rear lounge area leads to the lobby of another hotel, the Hotel Volubilis - hilarious, and totally Moroccan!
I arrived from a 22 hour flight and promptly argued with hotel staff who insisted I had no reservation, despite the receipt in front of them.
The shower head squirted water from about two holes. Water was luke warm the first hour and stone cold for the remaining two days I stayed.
The bed was akin to sleeping on a piece of cement. A thick rubber mattress protector made it even more uncomfortable. Pillows were crappy too.
The floor was dirty but partly concealed by rugs. The bathroom and toilet were relatively clean and functional (shower aside). My room was not made up after my first night.
80s pop tracks blared from the discotheque on the ground level until the wee hours. I don't mind a bit of 'Take my breath away' from Top Gun but perhaps not the time or place for it.
Breakfast was some bread rolls with a few spreads and pastries. It was basic and free. The bread itself was good and reasonably fresh (although day 2's bread may have been leftover from day 1..).
The location was pretty average. Near to the tramline but quite a dirty section of the street. The mosque is probably a 45 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride.
Wifi was free and worked in the lobby but struggled when more than a couple of people used it.
Transatlantique became a running joke among my tour group after staying in Casablanca. All our rooms were crap (mine was not even the worst among us!). We compared later parts of the trip in Morocco by saying 'on a scale of Transatlantique to ten'.
A basic hotel really only needs to be cleanish, have hot water and an ok bed for me to be content. This place failed the basic tests and all subsequent tests. Stay well clear.
Steer clear of this one.
Extort money !!!
I had booked and paid with my credit card, room with 2 beds, by HotelClub. When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist said that the room is not paid. Also me and my friend can not stay in the same room,we need to take another room, total 2 rooms.
Finally slept in the car.And transatlantic hotel charges for room, what i never got.
Receptionist very unpleasant,rude.
I would not recommend this experience to anyone
