We've been staying in Ashton on our way to Yellowstone for the past few years. We normally stay in some little cabins, but they have closed up. We tried the Rankin Motel this time. The price was right, and it was close to Hwy. 20. The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean. It's very outdated, but when...

The Rankin Motel is certainly nothing fancy and everything was pretty outdated, but if you're looking for friendly people and a clean, comfortable place to stay, this is the place. Our little cabin came equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay and its location close to the little heard of Yellowstone National Park entrance by the Bechler River...

Check-in was great. Having a Bungalo right next to the busy highway was not great. Both beds were very noisy, competing with the traffic driving by. Unit was very clean and the towels new, fluffy and white. Did not have opportunity to use Wi-Fi, so cannot speak for it.

We regret your stay was not quiet. Can you imagine the early auto court days with dirt roads! I imagine our guests enjoyed sitting outside their cabins, watching the autos go by. Our cabins have a distinct history in place and purpose. We will investigate the bed frames. Thank you for letting us know. All our best to you on...

I was really impressed with this little motel. I was taking a weekend trip with my daughter to visit Yellowstone and we stayed at the Rankin for a night on the way. Very pet friendly, with owners that have dogs themselves. My dogs (2 pug tzu's) loved it. Nice large grassy areas, mostly hard flooring but with plenty of rugs...

As I look back across this season of hospitality, I fondly remember your visit. So glad you enjoyed your time with your daughter and made memories with us. We hope you visit this way again.

This is an older motel with dated but clean rooms. It has a mini fridge and coffee maker, WiFi but no breakfast. 50 miles down the road hotels are $200-400 and here is 75. It's a good base for yellowstone. I stayed here 1 night so I could get to yellowstone in the am to get a campsite. The best...

We have enjoyed our season this year. I remember your visit and how masterfully you balanced that huckleberry shake! Thank you for staying with us. Safe travels to you!

We arrived to Ashton late at night and were welcomed and greeted warmly to this motel. The rooms are in semi specious cabins that are nice and clean with furniture and good AC. There's no breakfast included which would have been nice given the price. That said though, there's a place just down the road called Sunrise Cafe that makes...

Thank you for your feedback on your visit to the Rankin. We are still pondering how to compete with the Sunrise Cafe. Their breakfasts can't be beat!

This is a great place to stay if you're going to Yellowstone. Its about 50 miles from West Yellowstone MT. Close enough to enjoy the park, far enough away to be very affordable. We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. If you get a cabin you'll be staying in a well maintained older cabin. We chose a two...

Thank you for your feedback! Our grandparents loved this location for its strategic access to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. The early auto courts must not have given much thought to road noise when they built their cabins! We are so glad you enjoyed a little respite on the green and took advantage of our fire pits. Nothing beats a beautiful...

We booked 2 motel rooms with 2 queen beds, the ambiance of the place and environment was just perfect for family and kids to feel homely enough. Also a supermarket is just next to door and that is another free perk. Other than the distance of 50 miles from Yellowstone , we had a wonderful stay and fun. Housekeeping was...

We stayed in a small one bedroom cottage with parking directly outside. Old fashioned but that was the charm of it. Very helpful girl running it on behalf of in-laws we believe. Welcome break between Yellowstone and Bear World

We have stayed in budget motels before that we've paid roughly the same price for, but they were nicer. It is severely outdated. The place has been around since the early 1920's and has been renovated since then, but the decor looks like it is from the 60's (at least the room we stayed in). The only really updated thing...

We regret you weren’t comfortable at the Rankin. Our family has been in the hospitality business for quite a few years. We learn a lot from our customers. Every year we greet many wonderful travelers. The rooms at the Rankin definitely identify an era. When you stay with us, you can plan on a walk down memory lane. Regardless of...
