My wife and I have traveled a good bit over the years, both in Europe and in Mexico. We have never written a review of any hotel, restaurant, airline, etc., but we have made an exception in the case because we want prospective visitors to know that every moment of our six-day stay at Hacienda San Lucas was wonderful. We... More

Hacienda San Lucas is a beautiful mountaintop property overlooking the Copan valley with Rio Copan winding through it. This charming place is great for romance, relaxation, nature-lovers and those just looking to recharge their batteries. Lots of great hiking trails, beautiful vistas to be seen, lots of birds, nice guesthouses, authentic hacienda feel to everything. All food is made from... More

It is rare that I disagree so completely with recent TA reports, but I do with this one. The original hacienda building is indeed charming and atmospheric, but the bedroom was awful. Dreary looking block from the outside and so dark inside that if we wanted to find something in our suitcase we had to take it outside (a hanging... More

it was our second time to this fabulous place. Once you hit the dirt road that leads you to Hacienda san Lucas, you know that something magical awaits with an incredible surrounding. Up the mountain you go besides a mighty river, then you suddenly look at your window and the archeologica site of Copan lies in front of a majestic... More

I have used trip advisor extensively over the last couple of years, but never bothered to write a review. I am writing my first one because Hacienda San Lucas is one of the finest places my wife and I have ever stayed. We received probably the best and most friendly service we have ever encountered. The grounds are beautiful and... More

We had the pleasure of staying here during our visit to Copan and it was well worth it. It is a 30 minute walk outside of Copan Ruinas (you can also take a taxi / tuk tuk) along a bumpy dirt road but when you finally arrive, the serene beauty of the grounds and the amazing view of the Copan... We love this place. Nestled in the hills overlooking the ruins, it is close enough to have good access to all of the local attractions but far enough away to avoid the noise and bustle of the town. At night, the Hacienda is predominantly lit with candles and the loudest noises are from the chirping frogs in the valley bellow.... More

When one has traveled the globe, and stayed at various amazing types of accommodations, you don't expect for your expectations to be outdone- but they sure were. Hacienda San Lucas was the perfect place to enjoy Copan's nature, unwind, sample some excellent local cuisine and acquire great hospitality. The rooms are beautiful and blend in with the surroundings, and being... More

My family stayed at the Hacienda in early August. The real attraction is the warm service and the incredible atmosphere of the front lounge and restaurant. The owner Flavia was away when we visited and her place was taken by the ever present and ever helpful Argi. She went out of her way to arrange transport, sort out meals for... More

“The two original rooms, Corral and Coccina, are located closest to the main house and dinning room. This is good for someone who has trouble with stairs. Full strength wifi. The other six rooms are nestled up into the mountainside and provide additional privacy. Medium to no strength wifi based on the proximity to the main building that has the router.”
