Yes, there is an electronic safe in the bedroom. They also have a guard station at the entrance to the resort. The location of the resort seems VERY safe. It is the main land in Honduras that is not safe...the locals will tell you that. We traveled to the west end to do a little site seeing and shopping. It was very pleasant. The locals are very friendly. The island seems fine. I do recommend bringing bug spray as well. I did get bit up quite a bit...the itching took about a week to go away.

If you and your spouse are going to have three each a day I would recommend the beverage package, but buy it before you arrive, from your travel agent if possible. I did not and asked when I arrived and the price kept going up until it was not worth it.
