We have just returned from a wonderful trip to the island of Roatan, Honduras--highly recommend going there! We stayed at the Palmetto Bay Plantation. This is our fourth stay there and our fifth trip to the island. We have always experienced good service, good food, friendly staff, and lots to do. There is beautiful pool (clean) in the front of...

A few weeks ago we spent a week at Palmetto Bay Plantation. We had been to Roatan once before, staying at Fantasy Island resort (which was like a 3-star with basic food and rooms). Palmetto Bay Plantation was more remote on the island but we loved this. It has a wonderful island charm unlike the other places. We stayed in...

The property is absolutely beautiful but we experienced some issues. The worst is the sand flies. They are relentless and with the open air accommodations we were bitten all day and all night long despite drenching ourselves in deet, cactus juice and dressing in long sleeves, long pants, socks and hats. It is possible that we were there during a...

I'm a semi health nut and take interest in the environment. Palmetto Bay suceeded on both fronts. The landscaping is absolutely stunning; I felt like we were entering Jurassic Park when we drove through the entrance gate. Most of the flora and fauna are native to the islands. We also took Yoga and Pilates classes out on the dock -...

The setting could hardly be more idyllic. A beautiful private bay with a pier reaching out into the tourquoise sea. We came with plans to explore and dive and canoe and snorkel. In the end we mostly relaxed and took walks along the beach. We took one snorkel trip and a couple of kayak trips. Otherwise it was relaxation all...

My family stayed at Plametto Bay for one week. My husband learned to scuba dive and my son and I took it easy. We did one canopy tour (great fun), but other than that we didn't leave to resort. It is beautiful. The water, sky and beach on Roatan are amazing. I am usually a doer, so I tried very...

It was an all inclusive luxury vacation for a great price. We could not have been happier. PERFECT place for a dive vacation. Also make sure to check out the fishing charters they offer on grounds through [--]

I came to Roatan to relax. I contacted a few places but Palmetto was the first to response so we decided to book there. At the airport we were greeted by their drver who took us to the supermarket to get groceries (there is a fully functioning kitchen in the villas) The villas are balinese style with two and three...

When I arrived at the Roatan airport I was pleased to find a very nice coffee house which is my passion. Then we were teamed up with our chauffer who was very polite and and very friendly. We took in some breathtaking views of the shoreline on our ride up to Palmetto and the wonderful gardenlike grounds were very colorful,...

What an incredible vacation! Palmetto completely exceeded my expectations on all fronts. As someone who travels frequently for work, the laid-back atmosphere of this hidden island treasure was a welcome respite from commercial/touristy hotels that all start to look the same. The unit we stayed in (I-2) was stunning! Less than a year old with lots of Bali-style architectural influences....
