For starters, this is a family-run hotel. And the service you get shows that 100%. You get a cabin with air conditioning, a mini-fridge and hot water. Stepping outside your cabin you're only a few steps from the water, which by the way, happens to be a gorgeous coral reef perfect for snorkeling. What more do you need!?! For you... More

I've stayed at the half moon as part of a work trip, but it is inevitable when you are in such a paradise as Roatan no to take a few minutes to enjoy the amenities of the island. About the hotel it is very quiet so if you are tired after a long day you will sleep as a baby,... More

We visit Roatan twice a year and always stay at Half Moon. The view is amazing, the staff treats us like friends and always know what we want. I can't imagine staying anywhere else! Special requests are always accommodated.

This resort deserves a huge amount of praise! Aside from being a truly lovely island style resort, they get my vote for being big hearted & most compassionate! I contacted so many resorts to see which one would host a group of 19 orphans from one of the children's homes on the island. This resort was the ONLY one to... More

I enjoyed my stay here immensely! This isn't a place to stay if you're used to a 5 star hotel. Has an ocean view and just a short walk to the beach. The hammocks on the porch were perfect after a long day at the beach.

No frills but great place to snorkel, dive and eat within feet of our room. Great place not far from town. Clean and reasonably priced and great dive center too. We were sad to leave. We would highly recommend for anyone wanting a little adventure than an all inclusive fancy place.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Half Moon Resort. Cabins are basic, but clean and comfortable. AC is excellent! The large dining area is a great place to hang out and watch the activity on the bay. There is a nice swimming area right in front of the resort, and really good snorkeling an easy swim across... What an amazing surprise we had when we found the Half Moon Resort at which to spend our vacation while in Roatan! The brother and sister owners of the resort, Rene and Matilda, were so inviting and helpful throughout our stay. They arranged a private driver (Alex) for us to tour the island. He spoke perfect English and was very... More

I stayed a week at Half Moon Bay Resort with my wife and our two adult boys, one with his wife and the other with his fiancée. We spent the entire week diving with Ecodivers. What a perfect location. It is a simple resort that is a little rustic, not too much, just perfect for me. The dive shop is... More

Half Moon Resort has basic duplex cabins with 2 queen beds. Nothing fancy but clean with AC and fans. If you request they will provide a dorm size refrigerator. Cabins have some insects but it is Roatan. You’re going to find bugs no matter how much you spend. Sheets and rooms were well cleaned daily. Staff was always pleasant and... More
