Stayed here one night in Dec 2015. Our room was clean. hot water in shower. Very close to the Central Park. Nearby amenities include Pasaje Enriquez, which houses several bars with live music being played. Breakfast was included in our rate and we had our choice of omelette or desayuno chapin (typical guatemalan breakfast). LCD tv. We were very adventurous...

Hotel Modelo is a pleasant, centrally-located hotel. Rooms were functional and adequate, if nothing to get too excited about. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. The hotel has a funky décor of old typewriters and office-machines. If feels like there is a lot of history here. The staff was good and helpful. Rooms in one part of the...

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is somewhat dated but compared to other hotels in Xela this one stands out. Very comfortable, reasonable rates, good breakfast (included) and free parking which is important when traveling by car. Hotel is family run and soon will be in this family for 100 years. Owners speak...

I we went up on a weekend with my boyfriend. The place had a great back story, the decorations are all from a different era, they have decent rooms, and had great customer service. The complimentry breakfast was wonderful.

Hotel Modelo is a great option for a colonial hotel in Xela. Basic amenities like Wifi and restaurant, charming character to each room. Moderately priced, excellent service, a few blocks from the main plaza. Just out the door are numerous options for restaurants, bars, pastry shops, hipster hangouts, and the surprising bustling nightlife of Xela.

This small 120-year-old hotel oozes charm and is well-kept up. It was a delight to stay here. We loved all of the old woodwork and the decorations. Rooms are adequately sized. Not large but not small. The bathroom is small but functional and the shower water pressure amazing! Breakfasts were quite nice and the location is excellent. The only downside:...

Just finished a 7 day stay at the hotel. What a great staff and very accommodating. I had a team of 14 medical personnel staying for the week and the staff did everything to make our stay great. I've stayed here many times in the past and was not disappointed. They set up a great buffet breakfast for our team...

I stayed here for two nights with my partner. A lovely old colonial house about two blocks from the main park in the historic centre of Xela. Very attentive staff and a nice choice of breakfast. The free WiFi worked well and the room was very comfortable with a powerful and hot shower. The room also included a flat screen...

Had a wonderful stay, the hotel is vintage clean and beautiful, right near downtown with lots of restaurants! But besides the location and cleanliness the staff was extremely helpful! I became ill and they provided translation for a doctor and even made a trip to the pharmacy for me! 5 star service all around. My room was on the street...

I stayed in this hotel as base for my expedition to Volcan Santa Maria over 2 days and it's conveniently located near the centre of the city of Quetzaltenango. Just take care of the traffic outside as it can be busy sometimes. Inside the hotel looked it was of vintage style with comfy settees at reception, a restaurant, computer with...
