Just loved staying in this quaint, but quite accommodating hotel! The veggie omelet is not to be skipped! Especially enjoyed the courtyard and the very old machines!! Yes I will stay here when I return to Xela.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Modelo for two nights on vacation. We arrived in the dark and were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. We checked in quickly and were helped getting our luggage to the room. The hotel is an easy walk to the main square and several restaurants. The room was OK. It was...

A character hotel, well situated in the central part of Quetzaltenango, rooms relatively quiet, well-equiped, very friendly & helpful staff, however a bit long in the tooth, gloomy & in need of some refurbishment...

Excellent location!! The best breakfast in Xela, ask for the vegetarian omelette. Excellent service, from receptionist to cleaning-lady. Talk to the owners, they will help you with suggestions for nice and fancy restaurants. The rooms are clean and nice. Love the decoration! Suggest to check toilet seats and towels, there are opportunities for improvements. Hotel Modelo is always my best...

The hotel is charming and beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is centrally located and near the central square. They have a private parking lot for their guests with cars (the spots are a bit tight.) A substantial and good breakfast is included with rooms. We were three in a suite (two rooms) and a bath. Unfortunately we...

Was staying here along with the rest of a wedding party in Xela. The rooms were big, beds were clean, and the hotel staff were very friendly. It was a little bit pricey compared to other places in the area, but good value for the cost.

The hotel was good and big. The rooms had a tv, decent bathroom, clean beds, and good food. The breakfast was included and it was really good. They have eggs, frijoles, bread, cereal, fruit, and fruit juices. The only bad thing in the rooms are some doors. Some doors are a bit hard and different to open. You had to...

Very friendly people, a lovely free breakfast and a stunning courtyard garden. The room was lovely and the shower was amazing. The service and staff were also the best I've seen in the country so far. But. The mattress and pillows were both really, really bad. That was our only complaint! Overall - visit, but ask for a room with...
