This was the seventh or eighth time I have stayed at Finca Ixobel on my visits to my church brothers and sisters in Poptun at the Iglesia de Cristo. I stayed the first three years in the Suite Venus, which is a roomy hacienda that will sleep at least three. I have also stayed in three other rooms, most recently...

If you are looking for European hotel standards you certainly will not share my enthusiasm. But if you are looking for a relaxing place with excellent mostly biologicolly homegrown food, nice porches where you can read in your hammock, meet special, interesting people then this is the right place. The finca is very authentic, being of age I felt the...

I can see how Finca Ixobel could've been an awesome place to stay back in its heyday, but I feel like the owners have totally lost interest and let things slide. Now it seems more like a dirty school camp ground than an ecological homestead retreat. Real pity because we'd heard good things about it and were really looking forward...

We stopped in to the Finca for one night as we were passing through guatemala. Its an interesting place nestled back in the jungle and apparently most people use it as a jumping off point to local attractions (mostly nature). I wouldn't say we were wowed by the premises...the rooms are about as "rustic" as you could make them and...

My boyfriend, a friend, our 2 doggies and me planned to stay in Finca Ixobel for 3 days. We wanted to do the caves and enjoy the finca, specially because they told us it was pet friendly. The first day we had dinner there and the food was great. But when we were eating a really aggressive dog interrupted our...

We stayed one day at the finca, enjoying its tranquility and hiking to the very interesting stalagmite cave (4 hours RT). Although we were the only guests in the Finca (staying in the expensive bungalow), we could not feel the staff's hospitality, that may be expected in these places. The first night dinner buffet was cold (though the 2nd night...

Still famous this place and a very relaxed atmosphere. Weekend buffet is very good with typical guatemalan dishes, the other days there is a sufficient choice of food of good quality. Perfect place to meet people, but not necessary if you want to be on your own. The matrasses in the tree houses at least might need some investment, a...

I have stayed here twice; once camping (Q35) and once staying in the dorm (Q40). Both times were very enjoyable with a friendly and helpful staff. Their own restaurant is very good and with many items at good prices both for the food and variety of drinks. Eggs and vegetables are produced on site. Serving from breakfast through dinner with...

We liked the buffet diner (not a real buffet though) which is very reasonably priced. All the buildings are different and have their own character. the staff is quite friendly. They also try to limit their footprint, with eco-friendly features. A good place to relax for a while. If you have itchy feet and the weather is bad (like it...
